I wanted to give a small tribute to Vista Way today given that Disney has now officially sold it 🥲 Living in Vista was not always the most luxurious thing. Our apartment got termites, a cockroach broke our thermostat causing our apartment to be 50 degrees & there was a while we had an uninvited pet gecko. All that being said, Vista Way let me live with some of my favorite people I’ve ever met and served as home for one of the most exciting times in my life. I’ll be sad to not be able to drive by Vista Way anymore but who knows, maybe I’ll get an apartment there some day 🤪
✨January 28th 2019✨ 3 years ago today, I moved into the most Magical Place on Earth @waltdisneyworld to be a part of the Disney College Program (DCP). This was the internship to get my foot in the door and continue my dreams being in entertainment for the Disney Company. I applied and got in on my very first try! Not many got in with their first application OR audition. Unlike many, it still took a while to hear that they wanted an interview with me. I knew I needed to stop worrying, and pray to God “Lord if this is your will, let it work out so smoothly and peacefully”. I then received notice to do my phone interview and LET ME TELL YOU, GOD WAS WORKING!! Ends up the person interviewing me was ALSO a believer in Christ and was giving me so much encouragement🤍 Fast forward to moving in…I was so blessed to have beautiful sweet roommates in our cute apartment (Patty 12303). My dream of working entertainment came true, and work was always so much fun. Through it I’ve made the SWEETEST friends (you all know who you are) and have grown so much. I remember the date February 19th because it was the day that I accepted my first offer with TWDC. My biggest thanks that I have from TWDC is the incredible community of friends that I have from all around the world. They truly taught me how to live an honest and fearless life as a Gay man. I followed my heart and it led me to Disney✨ A year ago I moved to Orlando & started the Disney College Program🤍 When I was graduating college in May of 2019, I felt like everyone around me had this plan & fancy “serious” job lined up & I felt totally overwhelmed and not ready to start my career and “adult” life. Well thank god @jenthomp123 told me I could do the college program post-college, so I signed up immediately & was thrilled when I got accepted! It was just the “break” I needed after a long 4 years of college. Long story short, the DCP was hands down the best experience of my life & best decision I have ever made! I was by far the happiest I have ever been & I felt like I truly found “my people” and a renewed passion for Disney, which I have always adored & admired so much.✨ I’m so glad that I decided not to go the conventional route after college because it was truly a dream to work for The Walt Disney Company.🤍 I can’t believe it’s been a year since I moved to Florida, but I am so thankful for the memories I have.✨

Happy National Ice Cream Day! 🍨 I just scrolled through my phone and found several pictures of ice cream swirls shared with the people I love most in the world. It’s not only my favorite dessert, but also the center of a lot of special memories for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is one of my favorite examples. I took this picture of Jenni and Bailey towards the beginning of my Disney college program. It was a Monday after a day of training (training on how to run the carnival games in Dinoland, if you were wondering.) We spent some time in Animal Kingdom after work, and then found walk up seats at Beaches & Cream. We ordered sundaes and used our cast member discount for one of the first times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This was a special time. I was getting used to working at Disney World, freely entering the parks whenever I wanted, and truly living on my own for the first time. It was odd and joyful and I’d go back in a heartbeat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you have a food that sparks a lot of fun memories? And ice cream: yay or nay, and why is the answer ‘yay’?

Disney World reopens IN TWO DAYS! 🌳🎉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m pumped to see the parks reopen. As a former Cast Member, I know that all of the parks will be keeping safety at the top of their priority list. Plus, from what I’ve seen during cast member previews, some of the changes in the park look like great ways to keep the magic alive while also keeping guests’ health in mind. ✅ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This was one of the last times I was in DAK (in May of 2019.) I am looking forward to seeing how the park adapts, and I’m also looking forward to recreating this photo with my friend Jenni who gets married TOMORROW! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If we were heading to the parks for Jenni’s bridal celebration, we’d probably make a beeline for Flight of Passage, quickly followed by a stop in Dinoland and Asia to visit Jenni and I’s old stomping grounds! 🦖🦕 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you were going to the parks on Saturday (which is when Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom reopen,) what would you want to do first? My first ever photo at Magic Kingdom❤️✨ Today is the day! WDW is partially open for Cast previews & it looks like they’ve made a ton of necessary changes! I’m honestly getting emotional looking at everyone’s posts & knowing that I am so far away & not a Disney CM anymore😢 and for those of you who were laid off or your programs ended - I am just so incredibly sorry & I am thinking of you today, too!❤️ Hopefully we can all return to the parks safely & soon!
