2021 sure was a challenging year! For me, I can honestly say the most challenging I've had so far. . Despite the rough patches, when I look back there were certainly a few highlights and positive moments! We welcomed our kitten Ellie into our home and haven't stopped laughing at her funny little ways ever since! 😺 I took on a new role at work, a step up that I never thought I'd take, but I did it, and I'm proud of myself for it. . And in between the very long periods of lockdown, there were some shining moments of freedom, time spent with family and good times had with the best of friends, both old and new! . But here we are, ready to close the door on that year, and open the door to a brand new one. . Tofubällchen. Ich dachte mein Leben lang, mein größtes Problem wäre es eine Kantine zu finden, die am richtigen Tag Tofubällchen anbietet. Schließlich hatten sich meine Eltern kennengelernt, weil meine Mutter meinen Vater in der Kantine abgeschossen hatte. Mit einem Fleischstück beim Versuch, dieses vom Schaschlik-Spieß zu bekommen. Zur Freude der Natur, und vermutlich zum Leid meiner Mutter, jedenfalls viele Jahre, hatte ich mich allerdings bereits als Kind entschieden, dass mit dem Fleisch zu lassen. Aus vollster Überzeugung. Jedoch immer mit der Sorge, mit welchem Lebensmittel ich potenzielle Verehrer stattdessen auf mich aufmerksam machen konnte. Dann kam die moderne Welt. Heute wirft man nicht mehr mit Essen. Würde wohl auch gegen die vorherrschenden ethischen Vorstellungen sprechen. Man(n) wirft mit Likes. Mit digitalen Herzen. Das erschien zunächst als simple, aber effektive Lösung dieses Tofu-Dilemmas. Allerdings hatte ich dabei unberücksichtigt gelassen, dass ich noch aus einer Generation stamme, die hoffnungslos romantisiert ist. Disney sei Dank. Und dass dieses Essensproblem durch das Muskeltraining der swipenden Finger nicht behoben ist. Man ist jetzt halt selbst Teil der Fleischbeschau. Also. Getestet und nicht für gut befunden. Ich geh dann mal Liebesbriefe schreiben. Oder besser Bewerbungen. An Firmen mit abwechslungsreichen Kantinen. In der Hoffnung, dass einer vom Handy hochschaut, wenn Amor mit Essen schießt.
