From our mom: I decided to give Kurtis a bucket 🪣 list. He has cancer. It's bad. At his age & his other health issues, he wouldn't survive the surgery. Lenny has arthritis. She just turned 9. Her Mum Tegan turned over the page in her Bucket lists for Dogs book about giving your dog its best life and it said ‘Book your dog a holiday’. So she did. Go Tegan 👏👏👏 She and James brought Lenny to stay at @wiggleybottomfarm and they did a pawesome 🐾 wine tour with us today. It’s been a year since you’ve been gone and I miss you everyday. I have thousands of videos and photos throughout the 10 years together, so it was very hard to only choose 10. Fun fact about Nala is she used to bring the mail in! Give her an envelope or package and she’d bring it in the house. She’d also start trying to open it up too if you didn’t get it in time haha! Which made giving birthday and Christmas presents so much fun because she’s tear open the wrapping paper and boxes. She also knew all the fun tricks from years of practice and was the best behaved one in my pack. She loved people of all ages and loved to be loved on wherever she went. Forever will be my road dog who loved to adventure with me. Her fur was so soft and her muzzle was as soft as a cow’s. So when she took treats from you, it felt like a cow was eating out of the palm of your hand. She always was so gentle. I miss her bringing me her toys every time I walked through the door while helicoptering her curly tail as fast as it would go because she was so excited. I miss the “woos” she would do when she was happy, dancing and singing with her around the house as she wagged her tail and would dance with me, and her morning cuddles. I could go on and on about how amazing she was and still never get to the end of how great she was! She was the best and I’m thankful for her making the best 10 years of my life. Forever grateful! It's been a bit. I've been struggling with my mental health a bit. I'm okay, just needed to focus on being okay. I'm back with more weekly goals and some clarity on why I chose these things over the next few weeks. I've changed some of my goals to go off of weight loss and more towards nutrition goals, but I'm still very much trying to loose weight in a healthy way. For transparency, I just started Wegovy to assist this journey torwards better health as my extra weight makes some of my health issues worse, causes body pains, makes me more exhausted, and in general is a mountain I never actually thought I'd make it past. That being said, I'm still learning how to be healthier as I see Wegovy as a tool to assist me, but it also necessitates better eating habits and nutrition since I will have less calories in a day to work with. Anyways, here's this week's goals. 🐾 Dog bucket list: It's easy to forget to really make the most of my dog's time here, so I want to make a bucket list and work through it 📚 I'm restarting my reading goal since I never made much progress on it 👩🏽💻 Same thing on restarting my programming goal 🚴♀️ I want to start off with simply doing 1 aerobic workout a week 🙆♀️ I want to start being conscious of stretching 🛍️ I have a HUGE spending issue. I'm hoping to have a bit of a reset by having a no buy week 📱 I want to disconnect from all tech 15 minutes before bed 🥚 Getting in a ton of protein is important while loosing weight, so I'll be working my way up to what I've had recommended by my medical team 💦 I need to start actually drinking water 🧽 My house is currently a perpetual mess, I'm going to start with cleaning off my dining room table 🥗 Eating fruit and vegetables is important, but before 2024, I could go days without eating either, now I'm working to change that 🧖♀️ I want to do my skincare routine more regularly 🚶♀️I currently average 6,500 steps a day, so I want to slowly increase that 📱 I enjoy social media and I want to post 1 time on each account this week 🧶 I love crocheting. I want to finish a @thewoobles kit

A month and a half ago our sweet Astraea went to the ER and we found out a tumor on her spleen had ruptured. They removed her spleen and biopsied the tumor. It came back that she has a very aggressive form of cancer. We’ve been doing some bucket list things with her as they said we’d have about 2 months with her. We are thankful for everyday we have with her. But I’d love some more fun things to do each day with her. He’s what we’ve done so far - weekly pupachinos - played in the snow - daily walks - alll the treats - beach trip next week so she can run on the beach - carls junior burger patties What else should we add to her bucket list? My soul dog is getting old, his body and mind are getting tired. Things just aren’t as fun as they used to be. Anticipatory grief is very real and at times, all consuming. I try my very best to be present with him, but my mind wanders to the fear and earth shattering sadness when I think about living without my best friend by my side. I’m disappointed in myself for having cried a good amount of the past 6 months, watching the very normal aging process for a 105 year old and not being the brave steward I so wanted to be. But I’m turning over a new leaf, I will dry my eyes (for now) and not waste another moment while the good days still outweigh the bad. This February will be Hagrid’s half birthday month and to celebrate I would like to put together a bucket list for him. Please send me your bucket list ideas (or even just a happy thought to help me through what has proven to be the most difficult time in my life) to make sure this life couldn’t have been lived or loved fuller even if we tried. 💛

Hi friends! When I went in for my ACL surgery last week, x-rays were done on the day to make sure everything was good to go. Unfortunately, it was discovered that I have a 4cm tumour inside one of my lungs. My family and especially Taylor have been showing me lots of support (she won’t leave my side 🥹) While we don’t have all of the answers right now (no clue how long it’s even been there and I am asymptomatic), I am asking you for suggestions for fun things for me to do to enjoy my life to share with you. Maggie’s been at it again! This time’s escapade was a 2-for-1: burgers and a ride around town. Madame Maggie was taken to A&W Restaurants where she ordered a delectable and juicy hamburger made just for her. Strangely enough, it disappeared with a faint wooshing sound and Maggie genuinely had no idea where it went, so of course she was promptly presented with another. After a suitable resting period, Maggie went on a nice car ride during which she poked her head out the window and sniffed all the exciting neighbourhood scents. There was a pit stop at a local park where she enjoyed a leisurely stroll before going on another car ride to go home. All in all, it was a 10 ouf of 10 kind of day! *We have amended the original list because we have found that Maggie doesn't really care too much about toys. This girl is all about the food! Boris from @hazelshousepdx really enjoyed his massage. This 11 month old little muffin was given the grim diagnosis of a kidney malformation and is unfortunately not going to live a long life. Hazel's house and @gooddogretirementhome have been working on a bucket list for him and on the long list of fun and spoiling activities was a massage and I was quick to offer my lap and hands for this little nugget 💖 Boris really loved his massage, lick mat and all the attention and was such a little ham for the camera too! The last three months have been the hardest of my life. My anticipatory grief is so abundant and raw. I’ve been doing all the things to try to fully absorb the moments I have left with Winston. A professional family photo shoot was another one. I knew I wanted to remember us as a family exactly how we are so I desperately put in bids for a photo package through a silent auction to support the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana (@mentoringkids). And I won. I wanted to take the photos quickly so he could still look like himself before the chemo and hair loss and because time with his type of cancer is not promised. Dawn Greenwald at @peanutgalleries completely understood, validated every feeling, and made our shoot feel so safe and special. These photos will be treasured forever. I will be sharing images a little at a time. Thank you for preserving this moment in time for us and capturing the joy of how it looks to have all of heart with me 🧡
