a-ha ending on a high note the final concert 1 april 2011 Another brilliant a-ha album that was originally released in #ahaapril I think it's fitting that this was released on April Fools Day as they were obviously and thankfully, just kidding when they referred to this concert tour as their farewell tour. As we all know, the lads got back together again in 2015 and the rest is history. This was recorded on 4 December 2010. This is a completely different set list from when I saw them earlier that same year. The night I saw them, they started with excerpts from their newest album at the time (Foot of the Mountain) and worked their way backwards playing at least one track from each album chronologically. When they got to Scoundrel Days, they played the entirety of Side 1 before moving on to their hits from Hunting High and Low. It was a fantastic show! The cover of this European CD single features the front end of a '58 Chevrolet Impala, not a "50s Cadillac" as it says on Wikipedia. So, today I will be reviewing System Of A Down’s album “Mezmerize”. This is a great album with an eclectic range of influences from Alternative Metal, Prog Metal, Traditional Armenian music and even slight elements of Polka, Reggae and Funk. Highlights: “B.Y.O.B”, “Radio/Video”, “Question!”, “Violent Pornography”. “B.Y.O.B” is a great politically charged song with heavy aggressive alt metal sections that then goes into awesome Armenian influenced funky dance-rock sections. Very awesome progressive song. Has some of Serj Tankian’s best vocals. “Radio/Video” is a great song that fuses alternative metal, awesome guitar parts, heavy alternative rock sections, polka sections and even elements of dance inspired funk and reggae sections. “Question!” is a great Alternative Prog Metal song with awesome odd time signature grooves, epic vocal sections and a back for an obvious nod to their Armenian heritage. “Violent Pornography” is a great groovy progressive alt metal type section. It is very awesome and rocky. One of their best songs in my opinion. Overall this album is easily 10/10. 💫 When we shake off the darkness and harness the light 🩶 Lately has been a period during which I'm not at my happiest, looking for a job and trying to figure out what to do with my studies, but already the first concert reminded me that life can be good and that I can live happy moments even if I'm not at my most confident phase 💜 Conor asked the crowd a couple of times if we were happy and said "that's what it's all about, isn't it?" 🤍 ▫️🔸▫️ I got emotional during "Is Everybody Going Crazy?" ✨ We shall overcome as we've done before 🩷 Nothing But Thieves played in my city not only once, but two nights in a row and I'm so glad I got to see them during this tour 🙏 (19-20/04/2024) It was my first concert after almost 2 years and the difference in comparison to previous times is that I actually attended more calmly, constantly singing though and not without screaming and jumping 😉 I might've been on the side both nights, but the view from the first row was great and I could just look at them, enjoying the realisation that I was there and they were there too 💗 I also spent some moments with my eyes closed, just listening and thinking that this is what it sounds like to hear the songs I've listened to countless times being played by the band themselves in the room 💞 They seemed very happy to be playing in Athens, the venue was intimate and Conor was chatty, even though he had been sick and was struggling with his voice 🥹 But we helped him with the singing and they were perfect anyway 🙌 ▫️🔸▫️ Queuing was a bit adventurous but went quite smoothly, on the first day I was chilly and had to use my umbrella for the rain, while on the second we got a bit sunburn and the umbrella was used to make shadow, while there was wind on both days 😆 I knew there were not going to be many people queuing since early like me, but I didn't expect a group of about 20 people from abroad being the first ones and covering most of the first row 😅 But it was nice meeting them 🧡 I should also thank my boyfriend for joining me even though the queuing was too much for a normal person who is not as a crazy fan as myself 🤗 ▫️🔸▫️ ▪️{ #nothingbutthieves #concertday #memories #happy #nothingbutthieveslive #welcometothedcc #deadclubcity #favouriteband #alternativerock #livemusic #jameson #jamesonconnects #athens #greece #spring #april }▪️

Transamazonia, flow motion travel, You got to find the answer, Dream warrior, sun dancer… An otherworldly Lego version of the cover artwork for The Shamen’s brilliant song Transamazonia! Transamazonia was the second single released from the Axis Mutatis album in 1995 and featured a diverse selection of remixes by @thebeatmasters_london @deepdish @ltj_bukem @michel.spiegel and @ziontrainindub amongst others. I had been wanting to have a go at a Lego version of this unique @williamlathamart artwork for a while because Minifigure heads were the right colour already and I had a gem piece to use for the centre. The sticking point came as unfortunately I only actually had two yellow bendy tubes from an old Space set! I overcame this by taking several pictures of them in different positions, recolouring some to green and then multiplying and rearranging them in Photoshop. I woke up at 5:00 am this morning and finally finished my customized @volbeat jean jacket. Four months of 🧵 and 3 broken 🪡. It was made with rage and lot of bad first.
