If the light that flows from Jesus has come to you, and you are reflecting it upon others, you show that you have joy that is pure, elevating, and ennobling. Why should not the religion of Christ be represented as it really is, as full of attractiveness and power? Why should we not present before the world the loveliness of Christ? Why do we not show that we have a living Saviour, one who can walk with us in the darkness as well as in the light, and that we can trust in Him? ... – {TMK 142.2} But minds that are occupied with frivolous reading, with exciting stories, or with seeking after amusement, do not dwell upon Christ, and cannot rejoice in the fullness of His love. The mind that finds pleasure in foolish thoughts and trifling conversation is as destitute of the joy of Christ as were the hills of Gilboa of dew or rain.... We need to be constantly filling the mind with Christ, and emptying it of selfishness and sin. Many modern Christian denominations believe in a “follow your heart” approach. But this is not what Christianity is about. We are fallen humans with many disordered passions. If we follow our hearts all the time, we’ll follow our hearts into destruction. Instead, Christianity is about recognizing our faults and allowing Jesus to show us the way to repentance and virtue.

Today’s lesson is called the Cry of Rachel. No one mentions how important Women are in the scriptures very often. But they are the ones who bear children. WE WOULDN’T even be here if they didn’t. Rachel, the wife of Jacob, in the Old Testament, for the longest time was barren. And cried out to her husband about it. Genesis 30:1. And when Rachel saw that she bear Jacob no children, she envied her sister, and said unto Jacob, give me children or else I die. We as the church, or the bride of Christ, need to want, need to desire, bringing spiritual children to the alter of His church. Help God’s people come back to Him. There are plenty who hunger for Gods words. Let us pray & fast, in the name of Jesus Christ, for our friends, family neighbors & co-workers to be saved. For them to have their eyes opened to Heavenly things, not so much earthly desires. We must reach out & talk to them about the scriptures. Turn from our selfish ways, to work for Gods purpose. Why I won’t go to church on my period anymore. Yep you heard me right! When I was younger it was a highly stressful time going to church on my period. Always worried about overflowing, feeling like my emotional rope was going to snap at any moment and wanting to silence all the voices around so that I could think straight. Women have quite a complex monthly cycle. We like to break it up into “seasons” Winter ❄️ Spring 🌱 Summer ☀️ Fall 🍂 Each “season” is special and has purpose. And “winter” you might have guessed is your “time of month” or period time. This is the time when you naturally close off a bit, rest more and what I have found can be the time when God opens your eyes to a new beauty in His Word or gives you part of an answer to a prayer or question you have asked. A time when God feels extra close But my reason to not go to church at this time is not just because of this natural rhythm; it’s also because of what God said in His word about women on their time of month. “That she shall be set-apart for seven days.” Now this is not legalistic like many think it is. God is not arbitrary in how He takes care of His children. God is not arbitrary in how He supports women. Det tilsvarende verset i Det gamle testamentet finner vi i Sal.111:6 «Kraften i Sine gjerninger har Han gjort kjent for Sitt folk, ved å gi dem folkeslagene til arv.» Hensikten med pinsekraften er å vinne folkeslagene. Hensikten med pinsekraften er å vinne folkeslagene. Jesu vitner skulle ikles Guds dynamiske kraft for å kunne vitne med overbevisning blant de ikke troende, med under og tegn. Ordet vitne på gresk er martyres. Det betyr ikke bare en som gir sitt liv (martyr) for Jesu navns skyld; men å være et vitne; å bevitne; bære frem vitnesbyrd; legge frem håndfaste bevis på at det man sier er gyldig og sant. Ap.gj.4:33 «Og med stor kraft avla apostlene vitnesbyrd om den Herre Jesu oppstandelse. As I read these last few verses, a scene from the movie Titanic came to mind. In this seen, Mr. Andrews, who built the ship, informs some of the wealthy people of the iceberg strike and tells them the ship will sink. One of the guests replies, “this ship can’t sink”, because they believed it was the mightiest made ship and was unsinkable. To this, Mr. Andrews replies, “she is made of iron. I assure you she can, and she will”. What's on my mind.... Well 2 Kings 7:3 AMP [3] Now four men who were lepers were at the entrance of the [city’s] gate; and they said to one another, “Why should we sit here until we die? Decisions are important but not all decisions are wise. The best thing that can happen to us is when we make the right decisions. Everyday we make choices to go or not to go, take or not to take and so on... These four fellas who had nothing to their name apart from the condition called leprosy had a tough decision to make. Do they go back to the city and die due to drought or they go to the enemy's camp where they might live or die. But wait a minute why would going to the enemy's camp be a choice to people who are already so disadvantaged. I mean you would think that can not even be a choice, right... Well wrong?!!!! So the four fellas very early in the morning set out to the enemy's camp am sure they were scared because who does that 😩 But what they didn't know is that God was already ahead of them. They got there and the camp was empty no one in sight. They checked all round and there was no one in sight. Food is what they really wanted and they got in plenty. And not only food the Syrians left everything behind including their treasures. Where am I driving at.... I know that decision scares you... A lot... but what if it's that one step God is waiting for you to take and baaaaang breakthrough all around. What if it's God nudging you towards that decision that looks like 'what am I even thinking' The lepers were in that situation but the fact that neither of the decisions were favorable to them they still had to make a choice. I pray that God will grant us grace to make right choices. I pray God will grant us wisdom to know the way that we should go with so much conviction. On this Mother's Day it's a call to recognize those who live with invisible illnesses. Today is Chronic Illness Awareness Day too... The most challenging part of traveling with an invisible chronic illness is silently battling to accomplish everything an abled-bodied person does naturally and easily. It's an unspoken desire we all have - to be treated with kindness and respect- No one asks for it, but we feel trapped because the public eye judges us when we're treated favorably in queues, public spaces, and often toxic environments just because our illnesses aren't visible. Today is Invisible Illness Awareness Day for Fibromyalgia and CFS/ME, and I feel it's my calling, duty, or whatever one wishes to call it, to shed light on this issue because so many people are treated with disrespect and disdain in public spaces as chronically ill individuals with invisible illnesses. Not to bore you with details but I cried twice on my overseas trip this past week because I had to silently endure and inwardly express my pain and trauma. My request today for each one of us is not to judge others without understanding their state of being, whether it be physical or mental. You may know someone, but do you know their story? Never forget - something like this could happen to anyone, and then how would you wish to be treated?
