Sieht es so auf dem Mond aus? 🌜 Wir wanderten durch das Gebiet und versuchten jeden Moment mit diesen faszinierenden geothermischen Phänomenen zu verinnerlichen. THAI FOOD, ROTORUA NZ We spent a couple of nights in lovely volcanic Rotorua. Over that time we not only got the best Māori experience but we also got to try the Luge and walk around their public hot pools which can be seen steaming from the ground in the public park! One thing we noticed in New Zealand is the strong Asian influence when it comes to food. In Rotorua there were Thai, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese restaurants everywhere. After a wet and rainy walk around the hot pools we were in need of a warming evening meal. So we naturally went to the local Thai Restaurant. We were met with great service and the food was just delicious. I went for my usual - Thai beef stir fry with Thai basil and chilli on jasmine rice 🍚 @andy__barker also went beef but in a Massaman curry which was also really fragrant and well balanced. And of course no Thai meal is complete without a side to share - so we got some crispy vegetable spring rolls with sweet chilli dipping sauce - yum! This incredible geothermal area in Iceland honestly felt like I was standing on the surface of Mars. I’m totally obsessed with these photos that I took on my visit there. ❤️ It really feels otherworldly and the landscape is so fascinating! Oh and it’s also smelly. Yes it was REALLY smelly from all the sulphur, which if you don’t know is kinda like the smell of rotting eggs… So maybe take a snood or mask to help you out if you’re not good with smells as there were a couple of people on my tour who did it stay to look for long because of the smell. Thankfully it didn’t bother me too much so I was able to take my time to capture these shots. ☺️📷 Sadly I didn’t get to see any mud pots on this trip which I was hoping to see, but I guess that just means I’ll have to go back to Iceland again. 🤞🏻 Fun fact: Our amazing tour guide from @trollexpeditions told us that because of the terrain around here, NASA even used the area to practice their lunar landings. 🤯 (Also this photo is totally unedited, these are the real vibrant colours.) .

🇮🇸 Islanda - 10° Giorno 💨 Ormai in Islanda ne abbiamo viste, letteralmente, di tutti i colori 🎨. Ma proprio non riusciamo a stancarci dei paesaggi geotermici, dove il freddo si fonde perfettamente con il calore ☯️. Perciò, sulla strada per il lago Mývatn, siamo stato più che entusiasti, di vederli in tante declinazioni diverse 🤩: 🍲 In un parco dove poter ammirare meravigliosi paesaggi, oltre a pozze fumanti ed in ebollizione (Hverir) 🌋 In un'area geotermale con numerosi percorsi che corrono lungo laghetti turchesi, paesaggi lunari e lava vulcanica fumante (Leirhnjukur) 🏊♀️ In una grotta termale dai colori irreali, dove fino a pochi anni fa era possibile fare anche il bagno (Grjótagjá) 🚿 E, per finire, con una doccia di acqua calda e gratuita...in mezzo al niente. Day 2: After experiencing the cultural and geothermal activities at @hellsgatenz, we also checked out @orakeikorakonz on our way to Taupō. We didn’t know it at the time, but we got super lucky to see and quickly capture the geyser (pictured on the hill behind the building/tree on the right hand side of the last photo), particularly given that we didn’t have too much time to explore before heading on our next adventure of the day!
