This is a show-stopper! ✨ As you enter the Conservatory, you’ll be greeted by this stunning Dendrobium orchid (Dendrobium mousmee). It’s is large enough that the beautiful flowers cascade over the koi fish pond below.🌷 🔎 The petals are mostly white, almost translucent, with a pastel lavender accent at the tips and a golden yellow center. We grabbed some sweet treats! I had a bite of an ube mochi and Rupert tried his paw at a a claw game. Then we browsed in the shops. I looked at some tiny models and then some gudetamas. I don’t often just walk through Golden Gate Park. But Sunday I hiked to the beach from the panhandle with some @glamcocks, and the amazing @therealpupio took this photo of me in The AIDS Memorial Grove. I’m so grateful for the place I live and the community I have around me. Moments like this of being a colorful, flaming freak give me such great joy. We are so lucky to have queer leaders come before us to blaze trails so that we may be ourselves in public. I honor the people who foraged ahead through unbearable oppression so that I could prance through the city in tie-dyed tights that I made. And though I know my minor efforts to support AIDS/HIV education/testing/research are just a drop compared to the sea of struggle that came before me, it’s how I try to give back to the community that I hold so dear. I wish more of those heroic individuals of the previous generation were around for me to meet. The reason I post these thirst traps is to get attention.
