Intuition is an instinctual, a feeling, a knowing, a truth, a sense just like sight, sound, smell, taste and touch, we all have this ability to know what we know, the ability to trust this knowing, there is no need to debate it, there is no need question it, we just know it. It resides within us, it’s subtle but strong, and the more we trust it, the stronger it becomes, it is a part of us, it is our inner guidance system, and available to us whenever we call upon it. Intuition is a sense and just like our other senses it can be strong or weak, just like a strong taste, or a strong smell or a hint of either, sometimes it speaks loudly and screams at us and other times it is just a whisper, a subtle knowing but a knowing just the sam and the more you trust yourself, the more you act intuitively, the stronger your intuition becomes. These are the three pillars I use to help bring you into harmony with the frequencies of deep relaxation and intuitive awareness. Brainwave entrainment is about synchronizing the brain's brainwave frequencies with the rhythm of an external stimulus. The idea is that by experiencing a steady, rhythmic pattern, you can encourage the brain to align its own brainwave frequencies with this pattern. This process can help promote states of relaxation, focus, meditation, sleep, or even stimulation, depending on the frequency of the stimulus used. Hypnosis is a process whereby words are used in a certain structure to induce an alpha or theta trance. Breath uses the body to create a somatic rhythm, and sound creates vibrational frequencies. Deeper states of mind and intuitive insight: 'Strategy vs intuition: The importance of trusting our intuition and being in intuitive flow for our business' So what does it really mean to access our intuitive intelligence? Well it speaks to us in subtle or gentle ways (through thoughts, such as a sudden nudging coming to mind - ‘I must call that contact about this idea’) and strong ways (physical sensations, like sudden uncomfortable knot in the gut when interviewing a potential virtual assistant) and so on (learn more in the further reading below) - which we can learn to listen for, acknowledge and act on. But one of the most effective ways to connect to our intuitive intelligence is to access deeper states of mind. Thomas Edison when challenged with a large or daunting problem would take a nap with steel balls in his hands, as he fell asleep the balls would hit the floor waking him. He was attempting to enter the hypnagogic state, to access the creative mind, to answer the problem at hand, finding it effective for solutions. This technique, like self hypnosis, meditation, repetitive drumming or the Silva method, enables you to intentionally enter, alpha and theta wave lengths - more expansive states of consciousness to receive answers, which is intuitive by nature not logical like the beta wave levels of conscious awareness. “The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you you don't know how or why. All great discoveries are made in this way”. Einstein. Great minds have known this for centuries - Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Aristotle, Steve Jobs to name a few. Groundbreaking inventions, theories or methods are created and it’s not the reserved right of the elite or intellectuals. This is Move On. Feels like it fell out of somewhere and into my hands. Strange when that happens. I wrote this a few lifetimes ago in 2008. I used to play it with a lot more urgency then. Faster, more aggressive, rushed - as with most of my performances then - not allowing myself to embody my own work. Afraid of being seen. Afraid of what I’d uncover if I slowed down and let myself feel. I almost didn’t put this song on the record that I’m stalling to release. Move On was a song was from an era of what felt like perpetual limbo, and for a long time I thought might be best forgotten. But when I started mapping out the album, I couldn’t hear a version without it. So it is. In time for all the reflections and resolutions that come with the end of a calendar year. The verb to intuit comes from a Latin etymology that means to look at and consider, without the filter of reasoning. In my opinion, what you get when you drop the filters of reasoning is raw truth. That means your intuition is asking you to look at the bare truth. The purpose of intuition is to sober you up from the illusions of the mind. So when I say your intuition's purpose is not to coddle, I mean it literally. It wants to awaken you to truth. When you fear truth, intuition feels elusive. I often say that intuition starts softly and as we keep ignoring it, life itself will have to get loud in order to get our attention.
