While you have learned that we do our best to incentivize using your own mugs/containers we know the reality that many won’t. So we’ve invested in the most sustainable methods possible 👌🏽 - Retail Coffee Bags - We use state of the art Biotre 2.0 bags. They are 60% compostable and the labels are made from hemp. 🌱 - To Go Cups/Lids and other packaging - All of our to go packaging is from Vegware or Eco Products. All are BPI certified meaning they’ll compost completely if disposed with an industrial composter. So, that’s where @betterearthlogistics comes in 🎉 They are a local industrial composting company that helps us save over seven 50gal toters from going to the landfill EVERY WEEK but instead get broken down into soil 🙌🏼 So make sure to bring your compostable packaging back to throw away here or take it to one of their many satellite drop offs around the city. - Juice Bottles - Almost all juice companies use plastic for their bottles because it’s way cheaper. Not us! Here at Intuition it’s glass only baby. Not only does it taste better and fresher, but we’re currently saving between 250-300 16oz plastic bottles per week that are instead glass and most of which are returned to use for reuse because of our bottle incentive program which gives you a free juice for every 10 bottles retuned 🤩 Does all of these extra expenditures affect our bottom line? Sure this is definitely a more expensive way of doing things, but at the end of the day we want what’s best for the environment and humanity not a few extra bucks in our pocket. I am not a seamstress. I am not formally trained. I don’t know how to do proper alterations. I paid for a numerous private sewing classes, I got certified for adult continuing education courses at Bergen community college. I watched countless YouTube videos, I bought sewing books, pattern making, draping, textiles, fashion illustrations books and more. I would buy vintage sewing patterns, knowing it was way above my skill level. I spent hours going through thrift stores & fabric stores looking for fabric remnants. Over my decade hiatus. I bought the best scissors, tools, I stacked up my with everything you can possibly think it’s needed in a sewing studio. Thinking that if I had the right equipment, I would be better. Actually, it took years of patience, trial and error, frustration, procrastination, years of failures, years putting off fashion to take corporate jobs I was miserable in for a paycheck. It's been a crazy ride for me. But the moments of miracles and blessings make it worth it - We have to remember how far we have come, regardless of what we “lose” on this journey.
