Back to life saison 1 par Daisy Haggard et Laura Solon Série dont la thématique aurait immédiatement pû nous plaire (une femme se réinsère après une longue peine de prison), mais qui se noie dans un conformisme moral pénible et un manque cruel de dynamisme. Loin de nous d'en faire un critère suffisant de désintérêt, mais la platitude du montage, le manque de dynamisme formel, produit un ennui certain quand rien d'autre n'est vraiment suffisant pour faire contrepoids. Pas de joli plan, pas de personnages fulgurants. C'est presque un Prisme, d'ailleurs potentiellement intéressant : celui d'une moyenneté. Sauf qu'on en attend plus pour parler d'un thème social aussi crucial et peu visibilisé en tant que tel. La violence sociale du retour ne se manifeste que par un ton pseudo comique d'une ville qui a peur, et avec des raisons beaucoup trop superficielles pour faire sens. Ce qui donne une farce médiocre et ennuyeuse. Rien sur la réalité sociale de la réinsertion, puisque traité trop comiquement. Et c'est surtout l'erreur fondamentale : la disculper, épousant inconsciemment le regard biaisé du village (elle a purgé sa peine...). Ainsi une moraline insupportable pèse sur la série : est elle vraiment si coupable ? On comprendra rapidement que non (aucun suspense), rendant d'autant plus légitime son combat pour s'insérer. C'est tristement raté l'intérêt potentiel. Dommage. Il n'y a pas grand chose d'autre à dire si ce n'est la lourdeur d'un comique qui ne prend pas et n'arrive pas non plus à jouer de l'absurde. Con esta simple premisa, "Back to Life" se convierte en el sustituto perfecto de "Fleabag" y nos embarcamos con ella en un viaje íntimo y personal para conocer la "normalidad" de un barrio de clase media inglés. Un guión brillante, complejo pero ligero. Una historia agridulce, encantadora y con un divertidísimo tono irónico que nos habla de reinserción, adaptación y segundas oportunidades. Una comedia que descentraliza el drama que supone un asesinato para centrarse en el crecimiento personal. Al más puro estilo británico. ¡CHAPÓ!. Mediante la exageración de situaciones reales nos muestra las zancadillas que nos pone la vida y lo difícil que puede llegar a ser pasar página. La serie sabe ir desvelando en el momento adecuado los sucesos que llevaron a Miri a la cárcel y tiene un final de primera temporada que te deja blanco un par de días. Pero si algo destaca y brilla por encima de todo (dejando de lado la fotografía y la luz, ¡por Dios, qué luz!) es la actuación de Haggard en el papel protagonista. Esa espontaneidad y esa naturalidad con la que lleva al personaje; la torpeza que le otorga; ese "forever young" (me mata toda la segunda temporada con el pelo ondulado tan ochentero) y esa ingenuidad que sigue conservando a pesar de haber pasado tanto tiempo encerrada. Muy a la altura de Waller-Bridge. El resto del reparto es otro lujazo y cuenta con la mitad de la plantilla de "Utopía", así que sólo puede ser buena. Si tuviera que señalar algo negativo, sería el final de la segunda temporada (y espero que última porque se queda todo muy bien atado). Esperaba (necesitaba) más drama.
