Reviewing IGI OWO : We do not know who we truly are until we are exposed to a certain amount of wealth and fame. This story speaks of how unexpected blessings can create unexpected twists in people's lives. This couple had it going good, but the unexpected came and shook them to the foundations. Blessing turned into curse? Not really, I'd rather say unmanaged blessings meeting unprepared minds can be worse than a curse. Being a single parent is not a problem, but indulging your kids can turn out to be the root of future evil. So much and more packed in this movie. It is long, so be ready to sit through. I watched till the end cos the hype was so much that I couldn't wait to see it. And yeah, my expectations were met, not totally tho but fairly good. But I won't spoil it for those who haven't watched. In a 10, I'll give it 8.5. ⭐ī¸âī¸âī¸âī¸ Showing on @libratvee Produced by @anike_ami Directed by @abeyjomo #movierecommendation #moviereview #nollywoodmoviereview #nollywoodmovies #yorubamovies #africanmovies #nigerianmovies #movieoftheday #movielovers #nollywoodcinema #nigeriancelebrities

If you want to watch a movie about a plane going down in South America and having to contend with the threat of an indigenous cannibal tribe... Skip: The Green Inferno (2013). Eli Roth's tribute to the cannibali exploitation genre. To Roth's credit he used actual Indigenous tribespeople for cast members and screened Cannibal Holocaust (1980) for them to get across the idea of what he wanted. The tribespeople apparently thought the 1980 film was hysterical and enthusiastically signed up for Roth's film. That being said the film's depiction of the Indigenous people comes off as something between dehumanizing and just racist. Even if you can square that the movie's plot just isn't that good. Eli Roth uses student activists as his hapless cannibal fodder because young people taking a stand for something is the worst right? Watch Instead: Five Came Back (1939). Twelve people go down in the South American jungle in an area known to be inhabitanted by indigenous head hunters. The danger of the cannibal tribe is constant threat but they are never shown onscreen. The conflict of the film instead comes from the survivors of trying to build a runway and repair the plane before the cannibals zero in on them. Oddly enough the 1939 film is less racist than Roth's film made in 2013. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #thegreeninferno #fivecameback #indigenouspeople #foundfootage #cannibals

Boy meets World...... Boy kills World. Ok. Now that I got your attention that tv show and this movie has no relation at all and nothing in common. This is your classic slap stick non stop action revenge movie with a twist or two. The main character can't talk from getting his tongue cut out. He is on a revenge, killing spree for the death or his family. She story is weak but fun and has a great twist in the final 1/3rd of the movie. Because he can't talk, the movie is mainly inner dialogue H. Jon Benjamin. That's right. Bob, feom Bob's Burger. The body doing all the fighting is Bill Skarsgard. Jessica Rothe also kicks serious butt in this film with this L.E.D. biker helmet she fights in. She feels like a kick ass anime character. Famke Janssen also stars in this film. Between this and Knights of the Zodiac, she has chosen some interesting roles. While the story is lacking at times and the dialogue sucks at times, it has come great choreographed fight sequences. The kitchen scene with the cheese grater is fantastic. The breakfast cereal sponsored death game is goof laughs. Brett Gelman adds good laughs, too. You might remember his from Stranger Things. This movie ain't award winning by any means, it's not trying too. But it's a great no nonsense action film you don't need to think during. If you enjoyed Guns Akimbo, you'll love this. 3.19 stars out of 5. #boykillsworld #actioncomedy #revengemovie #bloodyaction #billskarsgard #billskarsgÃĨrd #famkejanssen #hjonbenjamin #jessicarothe #andrewkoji #brettgelman #moviereview #movierecommendation #movielover #moviestub #movieticket #movietheaterrelease #2024movies #cinephile #movieaddict

Okay, now to this one. TEMI by @christianaboluwade . Let me say at a point in this movie, I laughed ehn. No spoilers, so I won't say what made me laugh. But it's a really deep story about life, marriage, and friendship. This lady got me hooked from the first movie I watched on her channel, i think that should be APAKAN or so. It's not one of those clueless abroad movies at all. She knows her onions. So guys, go watch and see for yourself. My personal score is above 8 on a count of 10. Dragged Across Concrete (2018): A+ Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn are suspended cops in dire financial straits who scheme to rob a thief in the act of a robbery but get caught up in a cluster when the crime goes sideways in a big way. Wow, this film! Most movies are on a clock and don't have time for anything not germane to the plot. The beauty of this film is the amount of time it (and you) spend with the characters, getting to know them, luxuriating in small moments and details, many of which are dead ends and don't advance the story but invest you in what happens to them. Similarly, in the average film, you can generally see where the story is going and you may even mentally check out. Not so in this film, which is constantly unpredictable and builds to an edge-of-the-seat standoff in which you cannot tell how the events will turn. I always love Gibson and he and Vaughn have great chemistry. Listening to their banter is half the fun because the writing and lines are terrific. All the supporting cast are great, down to the smallest role. Tory Kittles, in particular, is superlative and holds the screen whenever he's on it. I'm not sure that I took a breath during the third act of this film; it's that good. What can you say about Mel Gibson's oeuvre? Maybe all I can do is point you to a couple of films you may have missed. First, as a director, his  Apocalypto (2006) is really unique and set in a world seldom seen in the movies. Next, Payback (1999) is one of his trademark comic/action roles but turned up to 11 with hilariously dark action and dialog. Both are highly recommended. #draggedacrossconcrete  #scraigzahler  #melgibson #vincevaughn  #torykittles  #michaeljaiwhite #moviereview #moviereviews #moviesuggestion #moviesuggestions #movienerd #movienerds #movie #movies #moviebuff #moviebuffs #movietime #moviegeek #moviegeeks #moviefan #movieideas #movieidea #whatmovietowatch #whattowatch #whattowatchnext #movierecommendation #film #films #movierecommendations #cinema

Review Damage 2009 DVD Rating: 2.5/5 Damage can’t overcome its simplicity, but as a starring vehicle for Steve Austin it’s surprisingly heartfelt considering the storyline. The film was a VOD title and I give it additional points for casting one of my favourite character actors Walton Goggins as a slimy underground fight agent. Austin provides a strong presence here and had his career been in the 80s he would’ve immediately been the new tough guy. Filmmaker Jeff F. King has been primarily involved in tv but his previous films are both Steven Seagal VOD releases. King doesn’t have the budgets with these films as the money is consumed by its central star and stunts, but it’s a step in the right direction for his career as a director. The screenplay is the central fault here and it can’t balance the softer story elements to create any true compassion for its characters. Laura Vandervoort and Goggins both assist the film with their supporting performances, and this triangle of characters allow this to be watchable between the fight sequences. It’s a flawed film without a central antagonist to really make this memorable, but as a VOD with limited exposure, it’s a bit of fun. Dragged down by some clunky dialogue and story structure, this film somehow shakes these flaws away for some gritty action beats. I think if King embraced the exact concept of the film this could’ve been something very different. #damage #2009 #moviescene #moviecollector #filmcollection #filmcollector #bluray #bluraycollection #bluraycollector #blurayaddict #blurayjunkie #bluraymovie #dupreewenttothemovies #DVD #filmcommunity #moviescenes #filmreview #filmlover #movielover #physicalmedia #filmreview #movierecommendation #moviescene #review #cinema #movienight #movietime #steveaustin #waltongoggins #lauravandervoort #lyndaboyd #jefffking

If you want to watch a movie that depicts the intricacies of the American Civil War on small scale and manages to do so without rehashing a grab bag of Lost Cause tropes... Skip: A Great Day in the Morning (1956). The setting is a small Pro-Union town in Denver where the Southern Pro-Confederate protagonist arrives. Northerners are portrayed as brutes. Slavery being the cause of the war and its utter wickedness is downplayed. For those that say "it's a movie from the 50s, what did you expect?" My reply is that the thoroughly Anti-Confederate and Anti-Slavery The Tall Target (1951) & Friendly Persuasion (1956) came out in the same decade. The Confederacy was evil and the Lost Cause Myth is pure poison. End of story. Watch Instead: Pharaoh's Army (1995). A small group of Union soldiers are scavenging for the army in 1862 Kentucky and come upon a small southern farm inhabitanted by a mother and her son. Due to an accident the soldiers are forced to stay rather than leaving immediately after taking necessary supplies. The Union captain tries to be decent about a bad situation but smoldering animosities on both sides lead to unfortunate outcomes. The reasons for the Union soldiers and the Southern woman's Confederate husband going to fight are discussed in meaningful dialogue. This film is criminally obscure and deserves more exposure. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #americancivilwar #civilwarmovie #pharaohsarmy #agreatdayinthemorning #lostcausemyth #lostcausepropaganda

I finally managed to get around to watching the film that goes with my 10k run for April, raising money for @medicinema_charity I traveled to Fran’s house and myself, Fran and 6 of his children (he has a baby too, who his wife was looking after) got together to watch Honey I Shrunk The Kids. This is a film I have seen several times but not for about 30 years. I was certainly watching it in the best company as the children got very excited by the opening credits. It's a shame so few modern films have opening sequences like this. It was fun and colourful and really set the mood. The film spends quite a while setting up the family dynamics of the neighbours, how the kids interact, how/who the parents are etc. I don't remember this being so prominent and it almost lost the audience I was watching it with. However, I did like the subtle way they discussed the Szalinski family having marital problems. I certainly didn't pick up on that as a child but it was done well and showed the children being supported and loved while also supporting both parents. The effects at a couple of points do look a little dated, the bee scene for example. But it is 35 years old now and the fact that the sets were actually built and that most of the effects were practical meant the dated scenes were in the minority. If this were remade today, I know there was talk of this, it's sad to think that all the sets and scenery would most likely be CGI and not stand the test of time as well. This is a fun family film which I have great nostalgic feelings towards. I do remember it being more tense and having more jeopardy, but that may just be my cynical adult nature. A must watch rural satire with heartfelt performances, message oriented storytelling & enchanting comedy with simplistic, quirky & feel good vibe. Long veils (symbolic for orthodoxy) being responsible for the swapping of two red sari clad brides leads to chaos & confusion. The two women swapped are very contrasting in character, one named Jaya (Pratibha Ranta) who is daring & pregressive while the other is named Phool (Nitanshi Goel) who is old school & naive. The two grooms are similarly contrasting too as Pankaj’s (Bhaskar Jha) thoughts are orthodox but Deepak’s (Sparsh Shrivastava) are modern. Manoj Tiwari is par excellence as the betel leaf (paan) chewing, greedy cop with a conscience. Another character worth mentioning is Chhaya Kadam as an independent senior woman undeterred by society running a tea stall on the railway station. Kiran Rao delivers a winner unveiling the prevalent patriarchy in India. Based on the story of Biplab Goswami, it’s bold & feminist. #laapataaladies #netflix #movie #movies #moviereview #movierecommendation #netflixmovies @netflixblogger_

To speak about Apocalypse Now is to speak about a mythical God who has been revered through history. It’s grand, it has an aura that shines throughout its existence, a terror only God’s wrath can make us feel. An unnerving omnipresence, as if someone’s watching you at all times. Such is Marlon Brando in this movie. Such is Apocalypse Now as a film. One of my favorite visual experiences. The noise of the helicopter fans in the background, the green jungle as a canvas, the wind carrying the horror around a boat having naive men following a troubled captain. A setup that is bound to capture audiences. It also has a delicate balance between dialogues and visuals. Shot by shot, the audiences go deep into the story, similar to the characters going deep into the jungle. We feel the same desire as Captain Willard’s to meet a diabolical enemy who doesn’t more than he was portrayed to be. War is the theme, the backdrop and the setting. It's a way of life for the characters. They have known nothing better. They cannot look beyond it. More so, they can’t survive without it. And hence the iconic line, ‘I love the smell of napalm in the morning.’ Another added layer was the supremacy of nature over the beast. These so-called men of war who claim to be undaunted, fearless and brave seem to lose their spirit when they witness the wildness of the land that isn't intimidated by weapons. Despite the war, it stays. It’s the age-old struggle of man against nature, except here nature doesn’t give them an instant death. It slowly grapples them by their neck, and suffocates them till they die, like a snake hunting its prey. These themes are perplexing and impactful. No one falls short of their performances but Duvall’s character had the most refreshing presence in a gloomy atmosphere. There is an inherent ambiguity & restlessness, which is its biggest feat. Nothing is revealed enough to make an objective opinion. But everything’s revealed just enough to form your own opinions. Whatever you take away from this film whether it be the politics of war or its cruelty, the vastness of nature or its indifference to mankind, at the end of this film we feel more humanized than before.

Civil War: B Alex Garland, the writer of Ex Machina and 28 Days Later, returns with his latest depiction of the near future. I went in blind and didn’t know what to expect going into Civil War, but it definitely wasn’t a road-trip movie centered around journalists. We get shown very little of the other players in the war. In this universe, the press are seemingly neutral participants in a divisive civil war. They are battle-hardened and get in the way pretty much any chance they can to get a photo. I found their massive involvement and acceptance among soldiers a little odd, but there seems to be a respect from Garland to those that observe history and record it. The cause of the war itself is left unknown, and as a viewer, you are thrown into the midst of chaos to put together what pieces you can. What we are shown is that war is hell and that sometimes you don’t know why people are trying to kill others. The taking of political sides was kept at a minimum in Civil War, which was interesting and unexpected. The film is not about shedding blame onto one political party or the other, but rather showing what can happen when an ever-escalating culture of division gets to its breaking point. The atmosphere of this movie is perfect; it’s unsettling, haunting, and believable. Garland’s direction was impressive, and the acting was on point, especially from Jesse Plemons. The cinematography and overall production value was just outstanding, with the one exception being the editing. There were some very strange decisions regarding the editing that I thought threw the movie off. Some rushed scenes, odd music choices, and peculiar sequencing made me raise my eyebrow a few times. In the end, Civil War is a solid, recommendable movie! Could it have been executed better? Absolutely. There are so many great ideas on display, but it didn’t all come together quite how I would’ve hoped. The plot left a bit to be desired, but it was a very “cool” movie to observe. The world that Garland created deserves a lot of credit.

If you want to watch a movie about a super-soldier being manipulated into assassinating people by the real villains of the film... Skip: Bloodshot (2020). The movie is based on pretty thin source material to begin with and despite the efforts of a solid cast the movie doesn't have one memorable exchange of dialogue or action sequence. It's the definition of inoffensively lackluster. Watch Instead: Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (2012). A sequel to the other surprisingly solid Universal Soldier entry Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2009) also directed by John Hyams. After lethal home invasion by the protagonist of the other US films Luc Devereux, the grieving shell shocked protagonist John goes out on a mission of revenge against Devereux and his other rogue super-soldier cohorts. Well choreographed action scenes and plot that homages Apocalypse Now follows. @boykillsworld is a movie that lives up to its title, with its unapologetic violence and thrilling action scenes. It borrows from various other films and shows in this genre, diving headfirst into its ridiculous nature and keeping the pace moving with little delay or character development. The simple yet humorous narrative works well and utilizes all the fundamentals of filmmaking to create a fun and entertaining movie, as long as one can overlook the darker elements. The movie has heart, good acting, and production values that prove not everything needs to be stagnant or too artistic. However, the violence and simplistic story may limit its appeal to some fans, along with the anime or video game-like feel of the film. I highly recommend catching it in a theater or on a home theater system that can support its good qualities. Critic Rating: 4/5 ⭐ī¸ (Awesome!) Prepare for mayhem. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) ★★★★/5, via Disney + genres: feminist, rom-com, coming of age, chick flick ꔛ * plot mentioned * Kat, an older sister who seems stubborn only because she doesn’t fit social expectations of women which are unfortunate for her younger sister, Bianca. because house rules say that she can’t date until Kat has a boyfriend. So to date Bianca you need to cross Kat first. ₍ âēŖĖ¤ĖŦ ₎ * my opinion * this movie shaped my personality as a child. It is a charming and entertaining romantic comedy that is based on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” and transports it perfectly into a modern high school. Kat’s character is super cool and has a lots of impact on me. because most movies at that time didn’t have much of a characteristic for a woman and because this movie was out for 25 years. there might be some problematic storylines (white feminists, etc.) but In my opinion, I considered this movie a progressive for those times. more movies/series like this: she’s the Man (2006), ladybird(2017), and Crueless (1995) #movierecommendation #moviereview #movie #10thingsihateaboutyou

Problemista was actually one of my inspirations for making this account after I had a couple people tell me they saw it per my recommendation. It made me realize how much I love sharing what I love with other people. There was so much joy knowing someone got to laugh and enjoy something I did too, a connection I didn’t even know I craved! This movie is absurd and not subtle, and was a huge reminder of how much fun you can have in the creative process of storytelling. Its humor and delivery is definitely not for everyone, but watch it if you’d like a peak into my brain đŸĢļđŸŧ . . . . . #movierecommendation #moviereview #problemista #juliotorres #movie

During the prep for 1981, I realized this year was a wild culture clash between the emerging Reagan-era conservative style and the absolutely insane, bonkers, bat-shit crazy style led by the likes of David Cronenberg, John Carpenter, etc. I put together this helpful visual representation of where some do the major films of 1981 landed on the conservative to crazy spectrum. . LIFE (2017) Director Daniel Espinosa At first glance Life looks like a standard clone of Alien with all the intensity, claustrophobia, gore and suspense you would expect, but once you start watching you realise there’s a little bit more science fact than science fiction to this movie and if you watch making of (well worth checking out) that appears to be the full intention of director Daniel Espinosa Great performances from an impressive cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson (both excellent) and Ryan Reynolds (hmm) I have to say Reynolds was good but he didn’t fit for me mostly because he was playing it with his usual schtick not his fault that was obviously the film makers/studio choice maybe they felt it needed extra star power In summary Life is a really good sci-fi thriller albeit similar to others and still a bit different, I really liked the focus on how the alien life form (Calvin) develops and how it reacts and changes to its environment there’s an argument to made this is how Calvin becomes hostile in the first place, I absolutely loved the movies ending (especially first watch) and I think Sony definitely missed a trick with this movie as it could easily have been developed as a prequel to Venom released a year later đŸŋ 6.5/10 - #scifimovies #rebeccaferguson #jakegyllenhaal #danielespinosa #life2017 #moviereviews #movierecommendation #moviefan #filmfan #filmfanatic #cinemafan

And damnnnn what a movie đŸ”Ĩ They always make the worst South Indian movies popular... And movies like this gets ignored... I couldn't even take my eyes off from the screen one minute!!!! If you want to watch a film that reckons with America's original sin of chattel slavery in the modern day... Skip: The Crickets Dance (2020). This low budget film based on an equally atrocious book traffics in text book slavery apologetics. The plot concerns the white female descendant of an Antebellum plantation slave owner falling in love with the Black male descendant of an enslaved person who was owned on the very same plantation. The thrust of the plot has to do with encouraging Black people to forgive White people for slavery. Yes you read all of that correctly, this a real movie that came out in 2020. I'm have a hard time believing that this exists too đŸĨ´. Watch Instead: Descendant (2022). This documentary focuses on the current African American residents of the Africatown district in Mobile, Alabama. Their ancestors were slaves on the last illegal slave ship known to exist in America and the discovery of the ship's remains causes this community to reckon with their past. A documentary that concerns the long-term effects of racial inequality throughout American history which is more relevant that ever. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #thecricketsdance #slavery #apologetics #descendant #chattelslavery #descendantmovie

An adaptation of Biolab Goswami’s story ‘two brides’ the story is set in the era before the wave of technology took over. Shot in Barwai village , 60km from Bhopal, many actors from the film belong the tribal communities from the State. After Dhibi Ghat, this is Kiran Rao’s second directorial venture and it’s an absolute delight to watch. The script is satirical take on social norms and expectations from women. The story revolves around the swapping of two brides on a train on the way to their husband’s villages. The resulting pandemonium evokes lots of laughter and thought-provoking scenes. Bundled with all the right characters, from a corrupt cop to an empowering grand mom, this unique tale is a must-watch. Must watch movie "Bhakshak"... Sad that this type of movies are less talked about... What a performance by the whole cast! Bhumi Pednekar as the main protagonist, Sanjay Mishra as supporting actor, and my personal favourite Aditya Srivastava as the antagonist. I also love how they showed both the sides of the journalist -- both her married life and work life -- how difficult it is for women to maintain a profession that's more about passion and determination and not just about money... Her courage as a struggling journalist for fighting for the justice of cases of abuse being covered up at a shelter for young girls is what will keep your eyes glued to the screen... With that said this movie is not for all especially who can't handle topics like abuse of young girls. #bhakshak #bhakshakmovie #cinephile #movierecommendation #movielover #movieaddict

Thelma & Louise (1991) “All this for us!?” Thelma (Gena Davis) & Louise (Susan Sarandon) exude so much charisma & vulnerability, they make it impossible not to fall in love with them. First time screenwriter & producer Callie Khouri was working as in music videos while writing the script, but when a mutual put her in touch with director Ridley Scott, they worked together to flesh out the design & tone of the film. By using a few subtle details, we get a sense of both women’s personalities through their dress, what they say & what they don't say. As they go deeper into their journey, traveling through incredibly filmed landscapes, they evolve into something new. Because it was so rare to see a movie featuring two ‘strong’ female leads, the discourse around the film’s release was all over the place. Promises were made (and broken) to produce more movies about women, while critics criticized the film as both anti-feminist (cuz the women don’t make ‘smart’ decisions) & misandrist (because the men behave like men, I guess?). Still, using the female gaze to tell an americana-stlye road trip story is still a unique choice, even 30 years later. The story presents a full spectrum of male personalities (played by newcomers, like Brad Pitt & Michael Madison, and veterans like Harvey Keitel), but the focus stays on how the women react to these men. They are always viewed through a female lens. When talking about the film in 2006, Gena Davis quipped “if you have a problem with the men in the movie, you’re probably identifying with the wrong character.” The beauty of Khouri’s script, which won her an Oscar, is that these women understand each other without having to explicitly explain their feelings or their trauma. And while the film's final moments will always make me cry, this story is full of humour. As they come to understand the rules of this world, rules that still haven’t really changed, they choose to reject it all. There is power & joy in the way these women rebuff the system. * #ridleyscott #thelma&louise #genadavis #susansarandon #roadtrip #americana #film #filmmaking #filmmaker #cinemaphile #films #cinema #cinematography #movierecommendation #moviereview

Barbenheimer returns with its supporting actors Emily Blant and Rayn Gosling, in the new movie - "The Fall Guy". I went into this movie without any expectations, thinking it would be an action-comedy. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that most of the action scenes were done practically, without CGI or special effects, which really made me appreciate the film more. 'The Fall Guy' isn't an extraordinary film, its plot is quiet simple, without any clever twists. However, its charm lies in its combination of talented actors, humor, and exciting action sequences. This movie is all about having fun! Emily Blant and Rayn Gosling nailed their roles, and their chemistry was fantastic. I hope to see them together again in future projects. Overall, "The Fall Guy" offers a great way to spend your time. It's enjoyable, funny, and the practical action scenes add an extra layer of excitement. If you're looking for something entertaining, this movie is perfect for you!

If you want to watch a movie where Earth has been occupied by an invading alien race and humans are just beginning to fight back... Skip: Battlefield Earth (2000). The book this film is based on is pulpy, too long, and authored by a man who was a crummy guy before he founded Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. However the book was also fun and interesting in places for all it's other faults. Battlefield Earth (2000) has none of those redeeming qualities. The movie is so nonsensical and incompetently put together that it will come off as unintentionally funny to some people. Watch Instead: Captive State (2019). 8 years after the Earth has been conquered by an alien invasion the film focuses on a collaborating policeman, a young man trying to get himself and his girlfriend somewhere safe, and miscellaneous insurgents in the walled of city of Chicago. The premise and execution of this one is interesting but the reception has been decidedly mixed. Check it out if it appeals to you. Actor Highlight Day ❤ī¸ - Hacksaw Ridge - I saw this a few years ago and really enjoyed the film and Andrew's performance it. The fact that it was based off of a true story was mindblowing!. He played Desmond Doss, a man in the army but who refuses to fire a gun, so he becomes a medic who goes on to pull off a miraculous accomplishment. He was honestly so good in this film, it showed the different forms of strength that there are, as he wasn't physically imposing, but mentally he was unbreakable, never compromising his convictions and it makes you respect the character so much because of that ability to stand up for what they believe in. He gave such an emotional and heartfelt performance that i was stunned he never won awards for it!. - Tick Tick Boom - This was a recent watch for me and i absolutely loved it. Which is rare too because i usually avoid musicals, but i loved every moment and song of this one. Andrew played Jonathan Larson in basically a biographical performance. As he transformed his look and mannerisms to match Jonathan's which were spectacularly done. It was another one where i was blown away by his performance, the sheer scope of it, there is moments you are mad at him, feel for him, to hoping for him. I thought he really nailed the role and showed the unique personality and kind of person artists have to be to succeed. That relentless dedication. But too, there were massively emotional moments in the film, one where he performs in the rain after finding out devestating news about a friend in particular really got to me. - The Amazing Spider-Man - I really enjoyed Andrew's portrayal of Peter Parker aka Spiderman. I think its something he brings to each role he does, he just has this genuineness about him and natural charm where you can't not like him. It was also too one of the darker Spiderman stories especially given what happened to MJ. He got to show that incredible emotional side he has to his acting and that ability to portray just a broken man, that gets audiences really emotional. He is truly a brilliant actor and one that never fails to deliver brilliant performances!.

Although the storyline is confusing af, its fairly obvious that the ambiguity was intentional as Christopher Nolan directed this film in reverse order unlike other movies which normally start at the beginning and end at the end but this does the opposite which can give a subjective view on things like you may trust this character and distrust another but someone may feel the opposite and also helps the viewer understand the Leonard as you never know what happened previously to him

Thelma & Louise is definitely one of the best buddy films I've seen. Films like this generally have male leads, but it was refreshing to see female leads, who were badass and showed that they do not need to rely on men. I'm sure when this was released, men were probably angry and offended to see the way they were portrayed. But let's be real. The way the men were portrayed in this film definitely exist in real life and still exist to this day. Hal Slocumb is the only male character that was redeeming because he was sympathetic to the Thelma's and Louise's situation. It was nice to see women portrayed not as helpless and dependent but powerful and can take on film like this which was generally centered around male roles. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon were amazing. I don't know if any other actresses could have pulled off their performances. I especially liked Thelma's character development. Geena Davis did such a great job portraying a character, who was naive and controlled by her terrible husband, and eventually let loose and was able to express her thoughts. Susan Sarandon had the biggest F you energy, and I was all for it. It was also nice seeing a relatively unknown Brad Pitt at that time. The screenplay was top notch. It definitely deserved the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. The direction from legendary Ridley Scott was amazing, and the cinematography across rural U.S. was gorgeous. If this movie was released now, I'm sure men would still rage and complain. Overall, this great and powerful film was a trendsetting film that I highly recommend watching. #cinema #cinemalover #movie #movielover #film #filmlover #moviereview #filmreview #letterboxd #amazonprime #movierecommendation #oscars #thelmaandlouise #susansarandon #geenadavis #ridleyscott #bradpitt #ė˜í™” #ė˜í™”ëŗ´ę¸° #ė˜í™”ėŠ¤íƒ€ęˇ¸ëž¨ #ė˜í™”ëĻŦ롰 #ë°ŠęĩŦė„1ė—´

Infested (2023) is finally on Shudder so I had to watch it. I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about Infested; plus I grew up seeing Arachnophobia when I was a kid so I wanted to bring back that nostalgic fear of spiders. Kaleb buys a rare and seemingly illegal desert spider from the back room of a local shop. Being a reptile and bug guy he thinks nothing of it and brings it home to add to his collection. When the spider gets loose in his run down apartment complex it turns into an infestation that no one could have imagined. Once the police lockdown and quarantine the building, it becomes a fight to escape and survive. This was a creepy and fun creature movie. These spiders were nasty and creepy as hell; the way they moved and the sounds they made were amazing. The webs, especially in that garage room and the attic space were so gross, I would die if I had to touch those. Besides the creepiness of the spider and the anxiety they brought; I was pretty let down by the movie. It was fun and I’m glad I watched it for free but it just didn’t live up to the hype for me and I don’t know about you but I have questions about the end. If you have Shudder and you like a good creepy spider it’s worth watching but don’t expect it to be an amazing movie ⭐ī¸âī¸âī¸ #infested #infestedmovie #shudder #frenchhorror #horror #horrormovies #horrormovie #horrorfan #horrorfilm #horroraddict #horroraddicts #horroraddiction #horroraddicted #horrorjunkie #horrorcommunity #horrorlover #horrorfilms #horrorfiend #horrorgeek #horrorfanatic #horrorreview #horrorreviews #movie #movies #moviereview #moviereviews #movielover #movierecommendation #spider
