ALIEN 3 (1992) Dir: David Fincher Interp: Sigourney Weaver, Paul McGann, Charles S Dutton, Charles Dance, Danny Webb, Pete Postlethwaite El debut de David Fincher. Hay películas que con todo lo que pasan es un verdadero milagro que llegaran a estrenarse. Cambios en la dirección, cambios en el guión, plazos imposibles en interferencias desde la productora. Esta cinta de la saga del xenomorfo más amado y temido del cine es el ejemplo al que más se suele recurrir al hablar de rodajes desastrosos. Aún con eso y aunque es la que menos se parezca a las demás, me parece que la peli ha ganado con los años. Quizás sea por el mal resultado de la cuarta entrega y Covenant o quizás sea por la ascendente carrera de Fincher en el género que mejor le identifica, el thriller. Porque es inevitable disasociar el aroma de esta cinta con una peli de asesino en serie pero fantasiosa. Es decir, que el Alien toma el papel de un psicópata que mata y se esconde, elige cuando matar y lo hace con pocos o ningún testigo a poder ser. La ambientación es poderosa. Una vieja fragua reutilizada como prisión en su tiempo. Una instalación destartalada y con recursos obsoletos. El compositor Elliot Goldenthal, que recoge el testigo de Jerry Goldsmith y James Horner, nos trajo una gran BSO remarcando la naturaleza pseudoreligiosa de la comunidad que habita la vieja prisión. También destaca el diseño del alien, muy diferente a lo que vimos en entregas anteriores y que al tener el anfitrión que tiene refuerza la teoría de que los revientapechos toman ADN del ser al que van a matar. Junto a Weaver, que repite como Ripley, tenemos a Charles Dance (Juego de Tronos, serie TV), Danny Webb (Policía de barrio, serie TV), Paul McGann (La reina de los condenados), Charles S Dutton (Legión), Holt McCallany (La furia de un hombre), Christopher Fairbank (El quinto elemento), Pete Postlethwaite (The Town, ciudad de ladrones), Ralph Brown (Jack, el cazagigantes), Brian Glover (Un hombre lobo americano en Londres) y Lance Henriksen (Alien vs Predator). 📽️ Alien 3 🗓️ 1992 🎞️ #videoclubcasablanca con @meinteresamucho 🎙️Reseña para el #cicloalien junto a @el_octavo_replicante ⏰ 137 minutos ⭐ 7/10 🍿 Soy y seré un fiel defensor de esta tercera entrega ( de la próxima no tanto ). Es una película oscura, opresiva, desesperante, con un planteamiento valiente, ya que si en sus dos entregas anteriores los protagonistas tenían armas con que defenderse, aqui no tienen apenas. Peor aún, estamos ante el escenario donde la criatura más puede campar a sus anchas, ademas de poseer un final épico con una banda sonora espectacular. Es cierto que tira por la ventana todo lo logrado en la segunda parte, como deshacerse de personajes secundarios que hubiera sido interesante verlos en esa situación, incluso ver a Newt entre esos presos violadores tenía su potencial. A mi entender, se regresa a la esencia de la primera parte en el sentido de lo claustrofóbica que puede llegar a ser en ciertos momentos y la tensión que existe entre los personajes y la criatura, que cambia totalmente su diseño ya que en esta ocasión sale de un perro. Tiene sus fallos, por supuesto, como momentos que lo único que hacen es alargar el metraje innecesariamente, pero a priori tenemos otros grandiosos, como la escena de las persecuciones por los pasillos que resulta caótica y desesperante. La estética opresiva de toda la película es muy buena, ojo que estamos ante la ópera prima de David Fincher, por lo que siendo su primer trabajo, creo que sabe devolver la franquicia a lo básico de la premisa de la obra de Ridley Scott con bastante dignidad, con un argumento realmente bien elaborado. Es fácil criticar una película una vez estrenada. Panic Room is and will always be such an exceptional thriller. I’ve seen it a bunch of times and it never fails to stress me out + entertain me and keep me engaged. This is a very simple cat and mouse kind of movie. What really elevates this film is Jodie fricken Foster. Everyone in this cast is brilliant but Jodie Foster always stands out to me. This film is set in one location which is the basically empty house, however it’s anything but boring because this film has such great pacing. This is an easy watch but also such a suspenseful and thrilling ride. I actually prefer watching #Alien3 on #VHS because it masks the problem with the early CGI alien FX quite well 😄. Still can’t consider this entry cannon because of the fate of Newt and Hicks but I like to see it as a bleak alternate timeline. Filmde hikayesine tanık olduğumuz tetikçi mesleğinin tüm özelliklerini taşıyan son derece soğukkanlı, duygusuz ve empatiden yoksun bir adamdır. Konuşmayı fazla sevmeyen daha çok dinleyici konumunda olan bu tetikçimizin saydığım tüm bu karakteristik özelliklerini Michael Fassbender çok iyi yansıtmış ve rolünün hakkını fazlasıyla vermiş. O soğukkanlılığı ve disiplini iliklerinizde hissediyorsunuz. Filmde diğer oyuncuların performansları da genel olarak iyi ama çok fazla ekran süresine sahip değiller. Burada Tilda Swinton için ayrı bir parantez açmamız gerekiyor. Kendisini çok kısa bir sahnede görsek bile filme ayrı bir hava kattığını söylemek durumundayım. Bu filmi diğer tetikçi filmlerinden ayıran özellik atmosfer yaratma başarısı. Bunun dışında maalesef bu türe yeni bir soluk getirmekten uzak ve özgün bir yanı yok. David Fincher'ın diğer filmleri ile karşılaştırdığımızda The Killer izlenebilirlik açısında bana fazla keyifli gelmedi. Daha çok psikolojik gerilim ön planda ama aksiyon etiketi taşıyan bir film için bu kadar az aksiyon sahnesinin olmasına anlam veremedim. (Özellikle karakterimiz filmde kendisine iş veren kişilere karşı bir intikam mücadelesine giren profile sahipken) Burada yönetmenin tercihine tabii ki saygı duyuyorum çünkü kendisi fiziksel karşılaşmalardan uzak duran daha çok nedenselliğe odaklanan bir karakter profili yaratmayı tercih etmiş. Filmde kullanılan ses tekniği anlatıda öne çıkıyor. Kullanılan müziklerden ise özellikle The Smithers dikkat çekici. Karakterin kişiliği ile iç içe geçen ve onu güçlendiren bir yapısı var. The Killer, David Fincher'ın kendi sinematografisinde öne çıkmayan ama genel sinema standartları için ortalamanın üstünde bir eser olmuş.

Movie Name: The Killer “When it comes to details, David Fincher is master of it in The Killer he flexes his muscles with some high-level filmmaking and thrilling prospects however the film weakens as minutes pass crumbling in its own simplistic narrative and plotting.” SharpRatings: 6 - #Okay It's been a while since I saw #MichaelFassbender on my screen, and it's been a while since I saw #DavidFincher return to his moody thrillers. #TheKiller is a clean, perfectly tuned, and violent film. It's the kind of film you’d expect from Fincher. The film solely and exclusively follows Fassbender’s character, the titular Killer, he is not named in the film and uses many different aliases, He is a killer for hire and when his routine mission fails one night, he goes down a spiral of revenge and being hunted by the wrong people. The film is cut into chapters, each passing swiftly between locations, drama, characters, and action. The film is drowned by the monologues, Fassbender’s character monologues the shit out of the film. There is hardly any conversation between him and any other characters, it focuses on him and his thoughts. I can understand why people may have mixed feelings about the film, as it was straightforward with its story. We expect a twist at the end or something, since it’s a Fincher film but the final is a bit underwhelming, There is a lack of true drama and thrill towards the end. Don’t get me wrong there is an ending, but it's just not a satisfying one. The film is slick and smart, but there is little attention to detail by Fincher here, he tells the story through cutaways, insert shots showing the little details that explain our main character's actions. His direction is crisp as always. Some dark and bleak lit cinematography, and hypnotizing sound by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross who collaborated with Fincher for many films. So they work quite well together. It's technically sound and visually stunning with its cold contrasted shots. "Alien" film scores review #3: "Alien³" (1992) . It's no secret that the production of "Alien³" was a mess. Multiple directors, multiple visions, and one release date. Some think the final result is terrible, some (although fewer) think it's great. I land somewhere in the middle. Third director David Fincher showed glimpses of the visionary he is and damned if this one doesn't have a distinct visual personality. The camera always seems to be at everyone's shoe tops (possibly due to this particular Xenomorph being a hybrid grown inside of an ox...or dog depending on which version you watch). But everyone being shorn bald and some fractured characters make for a lot of confusion, too. It's definitely a mess, but not an unwatchable one. . Through all of it, Elliott Goldenthal's music is as disjointed as the film itself. Despite a wonderful, brassy main theme, the rest of the music feels like the kitchen sink and all the dirty dishes in it. It's dark, foreboding, and fatalistic. In other words, I kinda dig it. That said, it doesn't make much of an impression and, as an album, is a tough listen. The girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Dir: David Fincher Lan: English (4/5) A journalist whose latest story brought him disgrace and a crippling lawsuit wants to redeem himself. He takes on a forty year old case of a missing woman which is near impossible to solve. He ends up working with someone who is one of a kind, to say the least. We have seen similar narratives before as it is the prerogative of disgraced investigators to solve difficult crimes and get back on track. But the iconic status of the Dragon Tattoo was much more than a run-of-the-mill crime narrative could justify. Character arc of the girl Lisbeth Salander is brilliant. You get to see her at her most vulnerable and how she works her way out. The dialogues, screenplay and pacing is so focused that she defines COOL from there on in the story and I am sure has influenced many who watched. Tattoo, piercing, punk hairstyle, motorbike (which also is used to depict speed of investigation) and even McD kids meal - all become iconic by association. Adapted screenplay from Steven Zaillian has a lot going on. Personal lives of both journalist Mikael and tattoo girl Lisbeth are explored while the investigation opens up the history and dysfunction of a rich and powerful family. Daniel Craigs character ends up looking like an initial distraction to launch Rooney Mara's Lisbeth. Editing by Kirk Baxter (who has a long association with Fincher) was exceptional in getting them all in line with the most impactful sequencing and duration. David Fincher stays on top and blends the serial killer psyche, torture, abuse and cold very well into the flow. Makes me want to watch his complete filmography! This is yet another one throwing light on a social issue and masquerading as a mystery thriller.
