The Montreal Sri Chinmoy Meditation Centre is pleased to offer a free concert at 7:30pm on Saturday December 9th in the charming neighborhood of Little Burgundy in Montreal. This concert will feature the all-female group Sangit Surabhi (harp, guitar, percussion, vocal) from Ottawa and Pavaka’s Group (pictured; guitar, vocal, drones, ambient guitar) from Montreal. All the music performed is composed by Sri Chinmoy and aims to convey a meditative, devotional and spiritual atmostphere. The audience will be invited to meditate (no experience necessary!) during this concert which will last approximately 90 minutes with an intermission. It's been an absolutely massive month for me in music. I'm still buzzing from the @paulkidneyexperience NSW and ACT tour and the @patchewollockmusicfestival . More on those and my upcoming gigs shortly. For now, I'll tell you about some record releases I'm in. First up, the incredible singer Yusupha Nghum @yusupha.ngum has lovingly created this beautiful album as a tribute to his father, Musa Nghum. Musa was a famous singer in Sene-Gambia and was known as a voice of unity and peace. He worked unceasingly over his life to unite people together not only through his music, but as an active voice in advocacy for peace and unity as a Pan-Africanist. Yusupha continues his father's work and this album tells stories of peace, unity and love. I am extremely honoured to be a guest artist in this album, thank you Yusupha! This album will be launched at @baroussou on Saturday 11th November, do come down! The next album release I'm in is with the @paulkidneyexperience. We did a split LP with the sensational Japanese Buddhist punk band @buddhadevadatta. It's just been released and after a stellar NSW/ACT tour, we're rounding it off with a couple of gigs at @shotkickersmelb on November 11 and @trashcult.records.books.film on November 18! The last album is with @solomonsisay. A chance meeting a few years ago led to a quick recording, and our paths crossed again a month ago. I was extremely delighted to learn that our recording was incorporated into his beautiful album, Sitota. Thank you Solomon!
