Meet my Mini ๐ Croton ๐ชด โข One of the first plants I actually boughtโCheck her out when I first got her โญ๏ธ โข She was ๐คing life and thrivingโฆUntil I moved it outside b/c I saw 1๏ธโฃ mealybug. My ๐ croton did NOT like the cold weather ๐ฅถ โข See video โญ๏ธ This was my croton after spending 2๏ธโฃ nights outside in 3๏ธโฃ0๏ธโฃ or below temperatures ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ Swipe again to see her dead leaves removed. Which leaves just kept falling off afterwards. She was pretty much bald and I wasnโt very hopeful for a recovery โค๏ธโ๐ฉน โข Why, might you ask, did I place a perfectly healthy plant outside in the winterโ๏ธ ๐ฅถ โข Well, this goes back to my shower being clogged post. I completely freaked out when I noticed mealybugs on a few of my plants ๐ฑ๐ซฃ I had watched a few ๐ซต๐ป๐บ vids on pests, but had never experienced them firsthand. Epipremnum aureum is a species in the arum family Araceae, native to Mo'orea in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. The species is a popular houseplant in temperate regions but has also become naturalised in tropical and sub-tropical forests worldwide, including northern South Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Pacific Islands and the West Indies, where it has caused severe ecological damage in some cases. The plant has a number of common names including golden pothos, Ceylon creeper, hunter's robe, ivy arum, silver vine, Solomon Islands ivy, and taro vine. It is also called devil's vine or devil's ivy because it is almost impossible to kill and it stays green even when kept in the dark. It is sometimes mistakenly labeled as a Philodendron, Pothos or Scindapsus in plant stores. It is commonly known as a money plant in many parts of the Indian subcontinent. It rarely flowers without artificial hormone supplements; the last known spontaneous flowering in cultivation was reported in 1964. Did you know that you can propagate Sansevieria (aka Mother in Law's Tongue/ Snake Plant). Just cut a few long leaves and cut them into sections and plant in pots. Water in well then be VERY PATIENT. It takes several months before a new leaf will appear. Only water when the pots get dry. Otherwise you will rot the plants. #plantsarefun #propagateplants #secrergardenshop

Iโve tried doing a vegetable garden outside but between the ๐ถ , ๐ฆ ,groundhogs, ๐ etc Iโve never been too successful. Until now! . For Xmas, Tommy got me the IGWorks indoor growing garden. The set up is amazing and Iโve already got some seedlings. Iโm growing lettuce, chard and basil to start since they all share a similar pH and EC value. I'm going to try to get off of the TREND of house plants.... You know what I mean. The ones that go for hundreds of dollars and then 6 months later they are down to $36 in all the big box stores. I will still strive to get in the rare and sought after plants, but if the price is too high, I just may pass until things calm down. Just doesn't feel right. There is such a wide range of beautiful, colorful, textured fun shaped house plants that are reasonably priced and that is my vibe!! Let's un trend the trend!!!
