Mixing soil for my 4” pots. Last season I started adding wool pellets to my soil mixture. The goal is to help the pots stay hydrated while using eco friendly methods. Some of the benefits I have found include water retention, soil aeration, a slow release of nutrients, it’s ph neutral, repels some pests due to the oils, and it reduces compaction. We recommend keeping it simple, using what you’ve already got and not spending too much money on new plants. For this Pre-sale Garden Makeover, here’s what the Street Appeal team did… 📍removed weeds, pruned shrubs 📍added leaf mulch for weed suppression and appeal 📍cut and poisoned weedy trees: white cedar, camphor laurel(eliminating potential problems) 📍transplanted plants to fill empty spaces 📍placed existing garden art and pots for some quirky interest 📍used old timber posts and rocks for garden retaining Generally, buyers want clean, tidy, appealing and low maintenance gardens.
