After camp today I told Emma we could go to Starbucks because you know it’s her birthday and all… while we were waiting to turn into the parking lot, there was a homeless woman on the median. No shoes, sunburned and her dress was torn from her bellybutton to her knee. Emma was so upset at this that she insisted that we go into CVS and get some some flip flops, aloe, sunscreen, water and some other essentials. PIP, the 5 year old, female, Pit Terrier, who came to us from the Stark County Dog Warden, who had spent time in the ER for a wide array of issues, from malnourishment, multiple kinds of worms, urine scalding resulting in skin lesions/sores, blood issues, dental problems & more, is in a foster-to-adopt home & has improved drastically. However, she is still facing some ongoing issues. We had to wait for her to gain some weight before we were able to fix her & do dental work on her, but she’s doing well! She goes on lots of walks with her foster & does so well on a leash. She is such a well behaved & snuggly pup who loves to cuddle under warm blankets. 🤍 She’s still eating like a hungry champ, but has a rash on her underbelly. 😕 We think it’s likely from seasonal allergies/squatting down outside, but we are treating it along with the other issues she’s been facing since she came to our rescue. She has required much medical attention & care & the costs have accumulated greatly. Donations make such a huge pawsitive impact on the lives of all these babies in need like Pip.
