I feel so lucky to have found what I love to do and get to share it with the most amazing people. List all areas I want to clear out and room refresh Paying attention to areas, I have neglected during the winter months Give each room some tlc Plan my time , write step by step plan of action targeting areas that have been left unloved. Today I am walking through my home, identifying probmatic areas that I need to improve in each room For examples places that are overflowing with stuff my wardrobes are practically bursting at the seams This month am planning out in detail , spending a specific time on each task this enables me to stay on track Declutter: Keep Trash Recycle Donate Sell Sort all items into piles as above Organise everything I want to keep Go through each room , decide what can be stored away , amp up storage Prepare each room floor space & surfaces for vacuuming, mopping deep clean Sometimes I like to celebrate my progress , with a refreshing glass of bubbly Set time I spend on each task area etc. Take breaks as and when required Do not overwhelm myself no rush , 1 step at a time

There's no other way to say it. If we want children to be responsible, so do we. I get it, it's easier said than done. Kids don't have to take care of the leaky faucet, the pile of mail to sort through, the bills to pay...your time and energy are limited and it's hard to keep up with the mess. Having decluttered a few times this year already, the next phase was trying to create a bit more visibility and have the hangers less crammed together in my closet. I bought two different types of hooks that collapse, but hold multiple items. I bought some from Temu and Amazon, which you can find in my bio link if you're interested. I also folded dresses over the hanger to free up space underneath. I also moved pants and jackets to the right so the clothes were free in the middle. It's certainly better already having it like this and the hooks hold a fair amount of weight, so far so good. After cleaning out this gauntlet of a storage cage, there are some things that made it easier. I wanted to share these in case you also have to tackle something major: 🏡 Do this project with someone who also owns the possessions. It helps to soundboard and make respectful choices. 🏡 Schedule this around the time of garbage collection, as you will have ALOT of trash. We are able to book collections from our local council for bigger items like furniture, small appliances etc, so we did this the day before. 🏡 Bring down a basket, cleaning rag, a face mask, and some oil of cloves spray. When it's this packed, there's a very good chance that mould will have collected. 🏡 Set yourself a target. Ours was to get to the mould that was growing and discard those items, and clean the items around where that was. Then I decided to make sure I looked at everything and at least make first pass decisions on everything that was in there. Having just one session with a professional organiser and declutterer could start you on the road to clearing your clutter, put systems in place to help all the family and give you peace of mind.
