On this day, May 3rd 2005, Audioslave released the single 'Your Time Has Come', the second from their second studio album 'Out of Exile'. It was released under Interscope Records and produced by Rick Rubin. 'Your Time Has Come' was inspired by the song 'People Who Died', from the 1980's, by The Jim Carroll Band, which took an emotional look at the fallout from the New York drug culture. Audioslave vocalist, Chris Cornell, stated: "It's a bunch of references to people that I knew that ... were younger than me who've been dead for years and years, up to a couple of years ago. It is also about people who killed themselves before their time has come." It also references the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, in regards to soldiers who lost their lives, and the effects it has on their family, friends and loved ones. WHAT. A. WEEKEND! Babes Against The Machine had an unforgettable time from start to finish as we trekked up north to debut at two new venues! First, we headed up to Brentwood Emporium for a killer show - but before we could even get there, we ended up running over a bungee cord lying on the off-ramp in Tracy, CA. 30 mins from our destination! Of course! We limped our van over to America’s Tire. When we explained our situation, letting them know we were a band from LA on our way to a show and needed to get there asap for load-in and soundcheck, the sales rep looked at the packed lobby and told us, “I’m in a band, too. I get it,” and he put a rush on our tire. Ended up getting it patched and refilled for FREE and made it to soundcheck in plenty of time! Thanks, America’s Tire! We told everyone in the audiences about you guys and dedicated songs to you all weekend (and yes, “TIRE ME” was one of them.) Thanks to Joker on Jack and KAOS for rocking with us and for the use of backline!!! Then, we headed down to Pour House in Paso Robles for a Sunday Matinee show outside! Hugs to our good friends Brett and Trisha and Darwin for making the drive out and rocking! HUGE hugs to Murder Hornets for use of their backline and for getting the crowd amped up! I still think Matthew Sweet’s “Girlfriend” is one of the best songs of all time! Much love to Leslie, Tom, Woody, Mariann, and the rest of the Pour House staff for your fantastic hospitality. We ended up going to karaoke that night with Woody. Khadejhia brought the house down with “Baby Got Back” (LA face wit an Oakland booootyyyy…). We can’t wait to do it again! « I don’t think there’s a conflict between the actual music and the message, I think the words bring out parts of the music that I maybe wouldn’t hear and the music brings out parts of the words that I wouldn’t hear. It kind of sucks because somehow the music has almost taken a back seat to the politics of the band. Me, personally ? I’m totally into issues, but at the same time it’s hard for me, because I started playing bass because I wanted to play music, not because I wanted to be a politician. 1992-1993. The entire band were pleasantly surprised by the reaction they received. It began with Europe, specifically the UK. Rage played their first show in Great Britain in 1992 when they supported Suicidal Tendencies. A few months later they would return to headline their own show at the Camden Underworld. When they then played Glasgow, the show became memorable for a relatively unusual reason. « Weirdly, for a very brief period of a few weeks we even had a teeny-bopper following!
