I was born and raised in So Cal and haven’t stopped smiling since I moved back three weeks ago. New sunspots are rapidly emerging that I can no longer call freckles; my car is full of sand and dog hair. I have almost been mowed down on three occasions by white Mercedes SUVs while 𝑖𝑛 𝑎 𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘, and the teenagers wheelie-ing on e-bikes in the middle of a four-lane road has sent me into a homicidal rage on more than one occasion.
