Ik hoor het mezelf nog zeggen, nog geen 48 uur eerder. “Ik hoop toch wel een ander mens te zijn morgenmiddag”. Als grapje. Half. Wat ik eigenlijk bedoelde. “Ik verlang naar compleet eerlijk te durven zijn over wat ik voel en denk” “Ik wil durven vertragen, niet meer zo hard rennen en beter voor mezelf zorgen” Zo vaak nemen delen van mijzelf de lead, en ga ik sneller dan mijn schaduw. De pleaser aan het stuur, om vooral te zorgen dat een ander mij leuk vindt. De pusher die mijn bus voortduwt, als ik eigenlijk zou willen vertragen. De controller die me drijft tot Buienradar, plan-al-je-tijd-vol en andere zekerheidszoekacties. Terwijl ik weet hoe ik ervan geniet, van spontaan. Van ruimte. Ik sta erbij, zie het mezelf doen en frustreer me erover. In het weekend voelde ik allerlei patronen, voelde pijn en verdriet. Ik voelde. Nu is het na het weekend en ben ik geen ánder mens, maar juist gewoon de IK die ik ben. Ik voel het borrelen en bruisen in mezelf. Weet dat ik werk te doen heb, maar met liefde. E ♥️ E Een leuke toevalligheid dat ik 25 dagen van het #100daysproject heb gedaan. Waar ik naar op zoek ben, ligt veel dichterbij dan ik met mijn verstand kan bedenken. Day 29/100: Alfred Merkelbach Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese 2021. Lots of fun teaching the class tonight at the @internationalwinecenter . The class is just starting their Diploma (aka Level 4) journey and taking the Viticulture and Vinification course. It’s very foundational, and very necessary, but as is the case with most foundational courses, it can get a little bit dry talking about things like pruning and trellising system and the impact of sunlight and wind on photosynthesis, divorced from any geographic or liquid context. Totally necessary, but not the most fun. So there are a few bonus classes added to the standard curriculum, like tonight’s session - a white wine tasting workshop. It gives a bit of insight into what they have in store when they start D3, the grandmama level of the Diploma course. (It covers a huge swath of the still wines of the world, applying lessons from this foundational courses, and there’s a two day exam at the end, including a full day of blind tasting. It’s a bear of a course.) So we tasted all the wines blind. One of them was a fino sherry and it gave my sherry-loving heart hope when most of the glass knew that with one sniff (unlike me, some 15 years ago, in that very same room in that very same class, took a sniff and couldn’t place the wine until we were told what it was.) Before the fino, we had the Merkelbach which was just lovely. All orange blossom and citrus and iced white raspberry and wet stone with that perfect pinhead balance of sweet and sour. 025. this lie began a few months after one of my relationships ended. after my ex and i broke up, we remained friends, and we’d call each other every so often to check in. we’d inevitably end up talking about our relationship and asking each other if we ever thought we’d get back together. the answer from both of us was usually one day. but if i were honest with myself, i would’ve said no. i didn’t see a future with him. he was a great boyfriend, but he wasn’t a great boyfriend for me, and we were much better off as friends. throughout our relationship, i realized i needed things he couldn’t give me because it just wasn’t his personality or he didn’t know how. however, i always found myself thinking, “it wasn’t that bad,” whenever we asked ourselves if we wanted to try having a relationship again. this didn’t just happen to me romantically. my first job was not a healthy environment, and i quit after six months. but i’d sometimes visit to see how my old coworkers were doing. one time, when i went back, one of my old managers asked if i’d be willing to return as an employee. i immediately said sure, telling myself once again it wasn’t that bad even though my mental health was at one of its lowest points when i worked there. in trying to pinpoint why i tell this lie, i realized it was because i don’t like to tell people no. i also have difficulty sharing my true feelings and prioritizing myself, which leads me to tell this lie as well. this lie invalidates my experiences. this lie makes me ignore my needs so i don’t disappoint others. this lie once again tells me i’m not a priority. i’m tired of invalidating myself. truthfully, the little liar——————————————————————————— #littlelies #truth #selflove #selfimprovement #selfworth #selfworthjourney #iamenough #selfconfidence #selfgrowth #selfesteem #mindset #growth #confidence #love #loveyourself #life #lifelessons #believeinyourself #journey #svanyc #mastersinbranding #svamastersinbranding #svamib #schoolofvisualarts #sva #svabranding #mpsbranding #100daysproject #100days #100dayssvabranding

Yesterday I took a trip to the garden shop to buy new soil for my potatoes. They are picky. I glanced over to the area where they sell iris. I did not buy any because I could not decide which colour to pick. I have already purple, blue and yellow iris in my garden. So I don’t know why it mattered. Maybe next weekend I will decide. Until then I can only dream of iris. Or paint some.
