And then one day, there you are, suddenly staring at yourself in the mirror wondering how the hell you got there in the fire place. Of that sentence resonates with you, don’t worry, it resonates with me too. But in the best possible way. I often look at these sculptures and wonder what they’re trying to depict. Is it good vs evil? Mind vs matter? Maybe it’s even past and present. The out is it reflects something within you, however you want to interpret it. I think it connects more so to what you’re going through in this present moment. For me, I look back on when I first took these pictures. When I look at other renditions of this exact same image from other photographers, I think damn why haven’t my pictures come out that great! Why don’t mine reflect what was meant to be captured! To be fair, I was a complete novice in the photo and editing game, and in some cases I still am. But I’m so so glad that I haven’t given up questioning my ability because damn I’ve gotten so much better since then. I’ve come such a long way, and self taught so much, that it makes me want to come back harder. And maybe that’s the purpose of these sculptures.
