Auf diesem Foto ist meine Oma. Es ist datiert im Jahr 1936. Da ist sie 13 Jahre alt. 88 Jahre ist das her. Meine Oma lebt noch immer, sie wird heute wieder bei uns auf der Couch sitzen, sich mit ihren Urenkeln unterhalten, zum Tisch gehen und mit uns essen. Im Juli wird sie 101 Jahre alt. Ich kenne ihre Geschichten, die sie erzählt. Mittlerweile kann ich jede wörtlich mitsprechen. Es sind nämlich immer wieder immer die gleichen. Die Demenz nimmt ihr allmählich die Vokabeln und sie werden immer weniger detailliert. Es sind zwar eher Geschichten von früher und die letzten Jahre verschwinden schneller aber trotzdem kennt keiner mehr das Mädchen auf dem Foto. Niemand berichtet mehr von ihr und ihren Gedanken. Ihre Erzählungen sind stets positiv. Ein tröstlicher Gedanke, dass der Kopf die guten Dinge speichert. Zum Beispiel ihre Ehe, die wird immer mit "ich habe einen guten Mann bekommen. Wir haben nie gestritten. Kein böses Wort, kein scharfes Wort." Früher hat sie von Opa noch andere Geschichten erzählt. So etwas wie "und da hast du ihm (als Kleinkind) über die Haare gestrichen. Niemals hätte ich es gewagt ihn da anzufassen aber euch Enkelkindern hat er nichts getan." Meine Oma ist mit Sicherheit immer in meiner Erinnerung. Meine Kinder erinnern sich sogar vermutlich auch noch lange an sie da sie eben wirklich noch viel Zeit mit ihnen verbringen darf. Aber in der nächsten Generation wird sie nur noch ein Name sein ein paar Fotos. Ich glaube sie ist nun davon überzeugt ein gutes Leben geführt zu haben. Und letztendlich - um mehr geht es doch dann auch nicht mehr. Summer blockbuster season is officially here. ‘The Fall Guy’ is a complete blast of adrenaline from beginning to end, being a throwback to the action films I grew up on. This is a true love letter to the film industry as a whole, but especially stunt workers and the undervalued work they do putting their bodies and life on the line to make the films we see (especially action films) look as good as they do. It follows Cole Seavers, a past his prime stuntman, who finds himself back on the set of the science fiction epic ‘Metalstorm’ with Tom Ryder, the movie star he worked with long ago, who replaced him after an injury. However, once he arrives on set, Ryder goes missing, and it becomes a game of figuring out where he is as he gets caught in something very sinister. This is the film that @davidmleitch has been working his entire career for, you feel his passion in every frame (he’s a former stuntman) as he would focus on the smallest of details, all the ins and outs of what make stunt work as great and important as it is. There are so many incredible action set pieces that is hard to really pin point a favorite as they all deliver due to Leitch’s mastery of top notch stunt work and practical effects, brutal eye popping hand to hand combat, and some of the best stunt driving put on screen (a particular chase sequence is one of my favorite scenes of the whole year). . . Leitch once again delivers a great use of music, in using fantastic Phil Collins and Taylor Swift needle drops, abd a brilliant use of Kiss’ iconic “I Was Made for Lovin You” as well as incorporating its melody as the anthem of the film was fantastic and pumped me up every time. Drew Pearce’s screenplay is excellent, some truly fantastic meta jokes and satirization of the film industry with some film related lines just really hit for me as a cinephile, use of split screens and a jab at the Oscars and their lack of love for stunt work that got a HUGE laugh at my press screening. If ever there was a film that made a strong case of why the academy should add a stunts category, it’s this film. . CONTINUED IN THE COMMENTS
