Prior to October 10th 2023 we would have passed by this day never giving much thought to it being World Kidney Day. Today we celebrate it because it gives us an opportunity to tell a story. We can tell River’s story. One full of miracles. Miracles and lots of people praying. Several weeks ago we received an invite to visit some ladies who, like many of you, prayed for River from the very beginning. These ladies pictured here have been wearing their River of Life shirts every Thursday for River (side note: today was too hot for the long sleeve shirts, so we are going to order some short sleeve ones for the summer - be on the lookout for them!) One of the things they mentioned being blessed by the most was seeing that God still does miracles. River’s Story • Day 153 • March 10, 2024 Pray for River today. 🩵 As you can tell, something isn’t quite right about this picture. Every night, we have the same routine. Daddy gives River his meds and he is sound asleep in 10 minutes, as he hooks up his feeds. Tonight didn’t go that way. He cried and could not calm down. We could tell something was wrong, so Michael unhooked him from his feeds. All 3 of us went to the kitchen and River sat in his high chair as we finished cleaning up from dinner. River was so happy, dancing and clapping in his chair. I kept telling Michael “He is trying to tell us he is receiving more healing!” We laughed and rejoiced about all God has done. Then we decided to try bedtime again. Soon after hooking him up to his feeds, he started crying again. Within just a few minutes his entire g/j tube came out. Michael called the paramedics to come check him out so we could determine if we needed to take him all the way to Knoxville or not, since that’s where it was placed and all his specialists are there. He is getting checked out at the ER right now to make sure he is safe to be transported without ambulance. If so, Michael will be heading there tonight. Keep him in your prayers as he potentially drives and for River as well, to be comforted and there to be nothing unlooked.
