Ended up back in the ED a few weeks back, and was told “no fitness” and all that jazz until we did some more tests to figure out what went on. A few weeks later, and MRI, some blood tests…. And nothing… So I got some good advice from my ENT… “go live your life” Advice that genuinely has stuck with me since. While I’m still hyper sensitive to anything around my nose, constantly checking if I’m bleeding, I’m back to myself, thankfully. Getting back in the gym and killing some workouts lately, I might just be back to recording some stuff in the near future! 4/28/2024 OKLAHOMA CITY MEMORIAL HALF MARATHON State #38 ✅. Half marathon #85 Official time: 2:23:44 (Garmin time for 13.1 2:22:24) started out with a little rain and wind but we were happy that the bad storms had passed in the night and the predicted sunny and 80° by the time we finished was not the case! So many runners, so much crowd support and if I were a repeater I would definitely run this one again! I finished 31 of 178 in age group F60-64!! Then, it was off to conquer the winding wonders of Fayette Station Road, squeezing in extra hikes and fueling up with scrumptious bites at Pies and Pints! 🍕🍻 Oh, and can’t forget the impromptu jam session at The Freefolk Brewery while waiting for a table! 🎶 Sunday was a total adrenaline rush with a guided Bridge Walk Tour under the New River Gorge Bridge – walking the catwalk beneath was pure exhilaration! Van Life: Week 27 Recap & Photo Dump NP #22 ✅: Shenandoah National Park After spending a month back at home base to getting the van serviced, attending multiple doctor’s visits, completing errands and visiting family/friends…it was time to start the second leg of the van life journey. Saturday morning I left PA and drove to Shenandoah NP in Virginia. After stopping by the visitor center, I drove 30 minutes or so on Skyline Drive to the trailhead for a 10 mile loop hike. After completing the hike, I headed into Luray for a few drinks after a challenging hike. Sunday I continued exploring the park along Skyland Drive and completing a couple hikes in the parks’ Central District. Afterwards, it was time to replenish some fluids so I stopped by Elkton Brewing Co. in Elkton for a flight of beer. (Cool vibes and great merch). The next couple of days were relaxed as broke up the casual 4-5 hour drive to the southwest area of West Virginia. While in Staunton, I got back in the saddle for a mountain bike ride and visited a few breweries along my travels the rest of the week.
