A few yrs ago, Chris bought a @celestronuniverse telescope for a Christmas present. I've not quite figured how to use it but made pretty good strides this evening. I'd been sitting on the porch watching the back fence line just to see what critters might ease up. Nada there so I trained the scope on the bird feeder to watch the Cardinals a bit more closely. Pretty neat seeing the fine detail of their lines. I sat back to take a break and saw this owl glide up and light on the fence post. He prob sat there 20mins or so. The googles say it's a Great Horned Owl ..which matches some of the vocalizations I've used a bird app to id. A bit later walked out to shut the cheeps up and saw the clouds had parted. So of course I'm in the yard with the scope. Took a bit to locate the Moon but very cool to see it so clearly. Phone doesn't do a bad job through the lense. Thursday was my first time sitting in the balcony and it was great to see a show from a different angle.
