(W)alking the Present Path On the morning of May 2nd of 2024, two 5-car sets of R160s would find their way on the (W) train morning trips (86th St to Astoria-Ditmars & back). New technology trains are not very prevalent on the (W) line ever since 2021 in which Coney Island Yard would get R46s & R68/As in exchange for their R160A/Bs. When it does occasionally happen on the morning run to/from Brooklyn, the catch is always a nice start to the day especially if you had experiences with R160 (W) trains back before the equipment shuffle. . Last weekend I took a highly recommended tour of Greenwich Village with Jordan Friedman, amazingnycwalks.com. Having been born and having lived here most of my life, I learned an incredible amount of history and little known facts. Jordan is an amazing storyteller and has encyclopedic knowledge! This portico and courtyard is the main entrance to the long row of Greek Revival townhouses on the NE corner of Washington Square Park; it sits between Washington Square North and Washington Mews. I have passed by this beautiful spot hundreds of times in my life and never noticed it.
