It's so much nicer IRL than this photo portrays even though I say so myself ๐ย I picked up the vintage ironstone bowl last summer. I love its simplicity.ย All of the paintings from this challenge will be available in March when I'll be having an exhibition of my work at Harrison Public Library NY and they will also be available to purchase online then.ย It's a bit ambitious to complete something like this for this challenge. There are a lot of hours involved and I have lots of other things to be getting on with like framing, varnishing and preparing more panels etc. So over the next few days I'm going to be focussing on smaller studies.ย And don't ask me why I'm still using my plein air easel. Lemon juice, divided Prosciutto slices 1-2 Anjou Pears (firm) Pomegranate Seeds Honey Directions: Toasting the baguette Preheat the oven to 375ยฐ. Slice the baguette in ยฝ inch think slices at a slight diagonal and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the baguette slices with olive oil. Bake for 10-12 minutes, to the preferred degree of toasted. Allow enough time for the baguettes to cool completely. The baguettes will continue to get harder as they cool. Making the whipped mascarpone Put the mascarpone, powdered sugar, and one tablespoon of lemon juice in a small food processor and whip for 2-3 minutes. If time permits, chill the mascarpone in the fridge for 30-minutes prior to assembly. Assembling the crostini Slice the pears lengthwise, then cut the slices in half. Put the pear slices and remaining two tablespoons of lemon juice in a bowl, mix to coat the pears. Cut or tear the prosciutto into narrow slices. Spread mascarpone onto the baguette slices. Fold the prosciutto a few times, place on top of the mascarpone, add a pear slice, sprinkle with pomegranate seeds on top, lastly, drizzle with honey.
