🌿 Das Green Office wird smart! 🌿 Wir sind mitten in einem aufregenden Bachelorprojekt, das zeigt, wie wir mit einfachen Mitteln unseren Energieverbrauch senken können. 💡🔌 Mit günstigen Standardkomponenten testen wir, wie viel Strom und Wärme eingespart werden kann, wenn wir Licht, Heizung und Strom für PC und Monitor „smart“ verknüpfen und steuern. 💻 Unser Ansatz? The design of PULP is inspired by industrially pressed cardboard packaging and combines the organic quality of the material with simplicity. The sustainable, modular lighting system consists of a central light module with a recycled aluminum housing and easy-to-install recycled cardboard shells that direct and shield the light. How should we handle the remains of the old church? Should it be restored? Can a new church replace the old one? In the following days I will show the works of my bachelor project "Fotoleere" (about: emptiness of photography). I have dealt with the problem I have with photography. This resulted in several small works that question various aspects of photography. In the first picture you can see a part of the installation, which also includes my works "no picture film" (Keinbildfilm), "camera death masks" and "puking camera", which I will show in more detail in the following posts. The second picture shows the wall piece "Photo ABC. This consists of 158 pages of a glossary of photographic terms. Five picture frames with black prints cover some of the words and explanations. „The Wolf and Me“ – A graphic memoir on life with lupus (SLE) by Fie Bystrup (@fie.bystrup ) Living with the autoimmune disease lupus (SLE) for 13 years led me to create „The Wolf & Me,“ an autobiographical graphic memoir to spread awareness and support patients with lupus. Research has proven that Graphic Novels effectively communicate complex issues like trauma and invisible illnesses. My aims were to spread awareness, create representation, and help women with lupus (SLE) to feel less alone. Based on interviews and cultural probes, I used the wolf’s mythological image to symbolize lupus. Despite 5 million people facing lupus’s joint inflammation and chronic pain, „The Wolf & Me“ is the first graphic novel focused solely on SLE. Trusting the process 😅 That is something I have been struggling a lot the past few weeks, and has been mostly what prevented me from creating really. It is also something we don't see a lot on social media, artists struggling with their inner critique, failing, learning. These sketches are the result of the co-working stream on Monday, and I am (for the point I'm at right now) pretty proud with them. The last picture is a one of the first ones from last week, pretty stiff and I didn't know and didn't try to find out what I could achive with different brushes and stroke techniques. So there is my improvement. But I'm far from where I could be with this, and that is okay. I'm still learning and beginning to accept that. So tomorrow at 1pm I will do some more sketches with you on my Twitch channel, and I will continue to learn and grow. The New Critical Times // Critical Design as a tool to raise awareness on #socialmediaaddiction by Yaiza Eguiagaray @ayayai.studio In the present day, individuals have come to live increasingly mediated lives. Social Networking is not anymore just about what we do online, but also about who we are and how we interact. Constant online connectivity seems to be the new status quo. While these platforms have their benefits, their obnoxious use can have negative outcomes. This project will aim to raise awareness and spotlight the current issue. This will be tackled by using key aspects of the #criticaldesign practice. The New Critical Times aims to spur social debate on what could be done or what could be the evolution of this one. A newspaper made by designers rather than journalists with its focus on #socialdilemmas that we encounter in our everyday lives. This project was highly supported by a lot of different people from teachers to friends to my roommates. With Martin Hussain and his project Waysa, the great advice from Prof. Henrik Rieß to have a better view of Critical Design, Helena Rienke my roommate and Irina who were the models for the pictures and were a constant power push, Nina Jensen and Max Less (roommates) who helped me proofread. „Him-dun-i & Hoe-bok-i“ A Modern Mental Health Solution for Modern Korean Students by TaeJung Lee, B.A. @tee.jay.ree Even though the overall suicide rate in #SouthKorea has decreased, the suicide rate among South Korean students is increasing. The #mentalhealth of the students is poor due to the immense pressure, negative stigma, and the lack of mental health education and resources. As a #designer and illustrator, I curated a #socialmedia campaign to spread mental health education and resources for South Korean students using #graphicmedicine. (Dream high, little Dani) is a cardboard book with interactive pull and sliding functions for children in the age of 3 or older. This bachelors project includes writing a children's story, illustrating, designing the interactive functions and binding and building the book. Good and well designed children's books play a crucial role in children's development. Children's books promote language development, support critical thinking, teach important values and morals, encourage learning the basics of reading and writing and stimulate creativity. Board books with additional interactive functions train the child's hand and eye coordination and thus their motor skills. ✨ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As I was always fascinated by dinosaurs and children stories I wanted to make my bachelora project combine the two subject again and make a fun and interactive book for young and old! 💕🦖✨ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The children's book you can see here is a prototype and concept book.
