Broken Chairs おはようございます峯田です。なんだか昨日はすごい1日でしたね。ドジャース大谷翔平選手は4打数4安打、2ホームランの爆発。2本目はなんと飛距離141メートル。井上尚弥選手は満員の東京ドームでネリ相手に1度ダウンするもすぐさま立て直して6ラウンドTKO勝ち。日本人が世界を相手に戦う。かっこいいです。 こちらは1999年にリリースされたビルト・トゥ・スピルの4thアルバム｢キープ・イット・ライク・ア・シークレット｣です。レコードはアメリカのUp Records盤とドイツCity Slang盤が存在していて、ジャケットのデザインが若干ちがいます。こちらはUp Records盤の方です。 僕がこのレコードと出会ったのは1999年のことでした。当時やっていたバンド、ゴーイング・ステディのファースト・アルバムのレコーディングを終えて、メディア向けに｢アーティスト写真｣の撮影をしました。初めての｢アー写｣です。場所は新宿御苑。 当時、僕はまだ大学生で千葉市に住んでいました。撮影には手書きのボーダーTシャツを着てのぞみました。どうしてもお洒落なボーダーTが欲しかったのですがお金がなく、撮影前の日の夜に、着なくなった無地のTシャツにマーカーでボーダーラインを書いて徹夜で完成したのでした。Tシャツの生地にまっすぐ線を入れるのは至難のわざでした。 撮影が終わって、千葉へは帰らずに国分寺に住んでた村井くんの家に泊まることになり、その前にふたりで西新宿のレコード屋さんを巡ることに。 ピンクと黒の看板のVINYLに入ったところ、新譜コーナーでこのジャケットがすぐ目に入りました。｢Built To Spill｣。はじめて目にする名前。ジャケットを手にとって数秒眺め、直感で買おうと思い、レジに向かった。 夜、村井くんの部屋でこのレコードに針を落として、音が鳴った瞬間の衝撃は今も忘れることができません。付き合って間もない彼女に電話で｢あのときはごめん｣とちゃんと言わなくちゃ。 動画は沖縄最終日。那覇空港に向かうときのもの。まっすぐ伸びた飛行機雲。椰子の木。米軍基地。通り過ぎるコカ・コーラの運搬車。 #BuiltToSpill #KeepItLikeASecret #CarryTheZero #vinyl #record

Midnite Star シアトルのインディ・レーベルUp Recordsから1994年にリリースされた、ビルト・トゥ・スピルの2ndアルバム｢ゼアズ・ナッシング・ロング・ウィズ・ラヴ｣のLPです。90年代のアメリカのインディ・ロックには沢山の名作があると思いますが、ビルスピがメジャー契約する直前のこのアルバムがほんとに大好きです。 1994年といえば僕は高校2年生で、ロックに無我夢中で、カート・コベインが死んだのは4月で、その日の山形新聞朝刊にも小さく記事がのり、茫然自失となり、すぐそのあと実家ではおばあちゃんが亡くなりました。ビルスピは当時まだ知りませんでした。ですが今になってこのアルバムを聴くと、多感で暗かった僕と世界をとりまく、あの94年の空気感がイヤというほど伝わってきます。逃げられないんだな、と思います。 4月17日。那覇市桜坂セントラルでライブ。前日の雨から、きれいな青空に。この日は21曲を歌いきりました。山形で生まれようと沖縄で生まれようと、ロック音楽が好きなひとばっかりが集まったライブハウスの空間はやっぱりすごいなあ。ギターの弦が切れようと声が枯れようと、こんなライブもう2度とできない。そんなライブばかりやっていきたいなあ。沖縄で歌えてよかったです。こっちに住んでる友人の濱北翼くんにも会えた。観に来てくれた皆さん、どうもありがとうございました⭐︎ ビルスピのタイトル通り、｢愛には何ひとつ間違いなんてない｣。 #BuiltToSpill #TheresNothingWrongWithLove #Reasons #vinyl #record #BoiMeetsGirrrl #ボーイミーツガール #桜坂セルトラル

Sick And Wrong おはようございます峯田です。僕はこれから寝るところですが。さきほどのチャンピオンズ・リーグ、すごい試合でした。トニ・クロースのあのパスは何だったのでしょう。ザネのあのシュートは時空を切り裂くほどでした。そしてアリアンツ・アレナに設置された撮影隊のカメラワークがすごくよかったです。今夜もボルシア・ドルトムント対パリ・サンジェルマンの試合が待っています。5月はたいへんな季節です。 こちらは1994年にK Recordsから発売されたビルト・トゥ・スピル(以下ビルスピ)の7インチ・シングルです。この頃よりKは世界各国のオルタナティブな感覚を持ったバンドを7インチでリリースする｢International Pop Underground｣シリーズを企画していて、その一環でビルスピのこのシングルもワシントン州オリンピアにあるDub Narcotic Studioで録音されました。 4月16日未明に沖縄県那覇市に到着した僕たちは荷物をホテルに入れ、その足で真っ先にステーキを食べに行きました。調子こいて460グラム食べました。久しぶりの沖縄だからといって浮かれるのもいい加減にしてほしいですね。これ以降も少々浮かれてる様子の投稿が続くかと思いますが、ご容赦いただければこれ幸いですというような、そんな風におもっています。 #BuiltToSpill #Joyride #vinyl #record

Built Too Long Parts 1, 2 & 3 おはようございます峯田です。僕の持ってるレコードの中から、次はどれをここに投稿しようか悩んだあげく、去年から今年にかけてたくさん聴いたBuilt To Spill(ビルト・トゥ・スピル)をあげていきます⭐︎ 1992年にアメリカの北西部アイダホ州ボイジーで、Treepeopleのメンバーだったダグ・マーシュを中心にビルト・トゥ・スピルは結成されました。すぐ隣のワシントン州シアトル周辺では当時ニルヴァーナやパール・ジャムがヒットチャートを席巻してロックの激震地になっていました。こちらは1993年にC/Z Recordsからリリースされたファースト・アルバムです。このLPは去年に購入したばかりです。へろへろです。めちゃくちゃかっこいい！ 4月9日。青森県弘前市にあるKEEP THE BEATでライブ。共演はGOING UNDER GROUNDの松本素生くん。会った瞬間から呼吸を忘れるぐらい喋った。楽しくって。そして素生くんのライブは、このあと自分が出ることも忘れるくらい、目をはなせないすばらしいライブでした。最後のアンコールではふたりでナイトライダーを歌いました。店長の高取くん、Creepsの竹内さん、観に来てくれた皆さん、どうもありがとうございました。 スライド動画は、素生くんとのひととき。打ち上げで久しぶりにお酒を飲んだ瞬間(ひとくちだけで終わった)。弘前出身のオノチンさんからどうしても食べてほしいと言われた、中三デパート地下の甘い味噌らーめん。 #BuiltToSpill #UltimateAlternativeWavers #NowhereNothinFuckup #vinyl #record #BoiMeetsGirrrl #ボーイミーツガール #弘前KeepTheBeat #松本素生
