Kashmiri dum ke alloo... one word: OMG😍 No need to cut onions or tomatos but still you get a salan with so flavorful gravy 😱 This recipe was no request but one a recommendation that I should make. I have never eaten this before and am glad I was recommended. who wants meat when you can have this. I don’t like the gravy or sauce you get in the restaurants because they are all same here in Oslo but this one is nothing like them. In the recipe I highly recommend to add only Kashmiri red chilli powder because it is not very hot or pungent and give a nice red color to the final dish. I could not find small round potatoes in the store today and used almond potatoes instead. 1. Boil potatoes, peel them and set aside. 2. Poke holes in the potatoes all over with fork or toothpick so that when cooking on dum, the potatoes absorb the flavors of the masala in which they are getting cooked. 3. Whisk 6 tablespoons fresh full fat curd or yogurt till smooth. 4. Ad kasmiri chilli powder and salt to potatoes and fry them in a pan with some oil. 5. Dry fry the dry spices and grind. 6. Heat up oil again, add spices and curd and cook until oil seperates. Then add potatos. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes on a low to medium flame. Here we are cooking the baby potato gravy on dum. 7. The gravy should become thick. You can always add less or more water depending on how thick or thin you want the gravy. If you cook more, the gravy will reduce more. So depending on what you prefer, you can cook for less or more time. Dum aloo ❤️ I guess alloo aalloo is everyone's fav❤️ if not then please do give it a try to this recipe n it will be added to the top of your food list❤️ Ingredients: *7-8 boiled and peeled potatoes *3 tomatoes bluntly chopped *2 medium sized onion bluntly chopped *1 medium sized onion finely chopped *9-10 garlic peeled *7-8 Cashew nuts *1 inch of garlic *2 cardamoms *1 inch of cinnamon *3-4 Kashmiri lal mirch soaked in hot water *2 green chillies finely chopped *1 tablespoon of Jeera *2 tablespoon of mustard oil *1 tablespoon of garam masala *4 tablespoon of curd *Salt according to taste *1 tablespoon of coriander powder *1 tablespoon of turmeric powder *1 tablespoon of red chilli powder *1 tablespoon of kasoori methi *2 tablespoon of fresh cream Instructions: *Fork the boiled potatoes to make some holes in it and deep fry it untill it becomes golden brown in color *Put all the fried potatoes in a plate over tissue paper *In a pan, add some jeera, cinnamon, cardamoms,bluntly chopped tomatoes and onions, and kashmiri lal mirch. *Now add garlic and ginger to it. *Give it a mix and add cashews, salt, turmeric powder to it *Switch off the flame after 10 minutes of cooking, and cool down the mixture. *Blend the mixture to a smooth paste. *In a pan heat some oil and add jeera to it *Add 1 tablespoon of lal mirch powder and turmeric powder and kasoori methi to it. *Give it a mix and don't keep the flame too high as the lal mirch powder should not burn. *Add the finely chopped onion to it. *Cook it for 5-6 minutes. *Now add the the blended paste to it. *Add salt, coriander powder to it. *Give it a good mix and cover the pan with a led. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes on low to medium flame. *When the masalas start leaving oil by its side, add some water to it to adjust the consistency. *Add the fried potatoes to it. *Add curd to it, and also garam masala, give it a mix. Add 2 tablespoon of fresh cream.Cover the lid for another 5-6 minutes and let it cook. *Switch off the flame *Add chopped green chillies from top and some cream to garnish the curry.
