Admittedly, it did not help watching the elite swimmers miss the buoy but it help with the right line for all those that followed. ๐I thought I had completed a good swim and ended up taking close to 4 mins off my personal best. Due to the overwhelming support of YES for my poll on my story โShould I ocean swim in Wellington tomorrow?โ I decided to go ahead with it ๐๐ป๐. In a wetsuit though, it was the enjoyable option. Waded for a bit, before swimming out and back to the platform at Oriental Bay. Then jumped in the heated pool for a few laps. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ด๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธWhen I registered for the Cooly Classic with my swimmers, it was mainly to accompany them and see what I could still achieve. However, something shifted within me, igniting a fire in my mind not only for my business which I will share with you later on this week but also in myself.โบ๏ธ The day before the race, my mum, who is in France, expressed unexpected excitement about my participation. Although she never pushed me into competing, she reminded how I thrived in such environmentsโa notion that lingered in my thoughts. As I dove into the race, my initial aim was simply to finish, not to compete. Yet, the thrill of the challenge woke up something within me. It wasnโt about performance, but rather about pushing my limits while enjoying the process, feeling the familiarity of muscle memory. Filled with excitement, I reached out to my friend @swellfitliving to share this newfound energy pulsating through my body and soul. Then I reached out to my brother @max.pct to ask for his opinion as a coach, (subconsciously) hoping for him to trigger me by saying I couldnโt. Had a dream bike leg on the MTB course of my dreams on the bike of my dreams. 2 and 3. Run course is never my strong suit (like a sloth in peanut butter right @paul_cochrane_1234?) but did great for me. 4. Can we please get swim caps that actually fit hair in them just one time? 5. ๐ฅ in category and State champs alongside some wicked tough women. 6. The most beautiful race location in Australia and I will be taking no questions at this time. 7. Got to finally squeeze a new friend. 8. MTB slayers with impeccable taste in wine. 9. Run/walk/crawl but make it spectacular. ๐ฅด Of course these highlights don't show the lowlights, and I will confess to having a signature move MS foot-drop stack with about 1.5km to go on the run, which had me face down in the dirt (and contemplating staying there for a little rest). I am also now unable to walk for 3-5 business days.
