“Challengers,” comes out on top! 15-LOVE! Zendaya’s star power and Luca Guadagnino’s directing seems to have been quite the serve to American’s this year. Hitting off it’s first week with a total of $15 million. “Unsung Hero,” is heard coming in at 2nd place with a total of $7million. The family drama has pulled in more than I expected and I’m pretty glad about it, it looks like an innocent pure fun time. Like a hallmark movie on roids. GodzillaXKong is still wreaking havoc making another $9 million with a total of 181 so far. Definitely get ready for round 3 of this dynamic kaiju duo farther down the line. Let’s it’s something remotely better than this. More apes using smaller apes as weapons please. “Civil War,” is still fighting the good fight, I think. Either way brought home $7 million in its 3rd week for a current total of $56 million. This makes it a top 5 grossing movie for A24 putting it on the heels of “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” which made and won an academy award. There’s no way “Civil War,” will make a dent at the academy award but it will make A24’s pockets fatter in the incoming weeks. “Abigail,” is sucking theater goers’ wallets bringing in $5 million this weekend for a total of $18 million and fell off 49% from its 1st weekend.
