Everyone in the film is acting poorly and is not believable. Jenny McCarthy is over the top and Carmen Electra is horrendous. A lot of the film is dated from 2005, but it was embarrassingly cringy then too. The movie is not entertaining or enjoyable. It feels like a joke and something from YouTube. It's not memorable or exciting. This has some attractive people in it, but they can't save the movie from itself. There's no romance or chemistry. It doesn't know what it wants to be. You've probably never heard of this and I'm sorry for bringing it up. I went and saw the film "Civil War" this morning. I absolutely loved it! Civil War is a poignant thought-provoking thriller that is as relevant as ever. This film has some of the most choatic anxiety-inducing sequences I've seen in years. It's incredibly intense, visceral, and has some great sound design. The terrific script by director Alex Garland is powerful and really delves into the ambiguous and immoral nature of war. The horrors of it are completely displayed in shocking fashion and goes into the psychological impact of it. It also deals with some very real-life ripped from the headlines topics. It's a real eye opener that takes no sides besides the human side. The film is about a road trip across America with four military journalists on the way to D.C. The film is pensive and heartfelt with how it approaches these broken yet relateable characters who are trying to find that perfect shot. The film is filled with a ominous tension that you can't help but feel mirrors our society. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Cailee Spaeny in phenomenal and absolutely heart-wrenching performances. The film has some fantastic supporting performances from Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jefferson White, and Nelson Lee. The cinematography by Rob Hardy is excellent. The film is expertly edited by Jake Roberts, accompanied by a cool, effective score by Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury. The art direction, set decoration, costume design, and production design is superb. Alex Garland did a brilliant job directing this exhilarating, haunting, and easily one of the most important films in years. I hadn’t honestly put much thought into my most anticipated movie of the year but if I had to choose one now, it would easily be KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. I’m beyond excited for it. What a force of nature CHALLENGERS was! Some of the most chaotic and incredible editing I've ever seen. Wild tennis action. It made tennis as intense as it is if you love the sport. Probably best tennis action ever on film. Also, Amazing use of time in this film. Christopher Nolan would be proud! Lolol! Lucas Guadagnino makes some phenomenal films. This may have been his most fun! Bought out the absolute best in his cast Captained by Zendaya, she was extraordinary. She had this wild way about her in CHALLENGERS unlike she has in previous films. She was wild. Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist were amazing too. They all had such great chemistry. Made the film that much better. The music in the film was tremendous too! This didn’t stop! Challengers is undoubtedly going to be the most electric movie of the year, from minute one you’re pulled in and there’s no let up from then. Intense, sensual and beautifully crafted, with three actors at their very best Challengers succeeds at being an honest explanation of relationships and the passion and drive you have to achieve your goals. The score is magnificent, the screenplay is smart and the camera work in the tennis matches especially, showing you the action from all different aspects and like I said, them scenes are so intense. The scenes where we have two of the leads on screen and you can hear the voices raise and just the faint heartbeat sounds in the background, they were the scenes that won me over. I was a bit on the fence about the ending to be honest, not that I thought it was bad I just felt like it had a bit of room to go and maybe that’s just me, but I could’ve sat for another 30 minutes easily, and genuinely that’s me being very picky. On s’envole ici dans l’espace avec des vaisseaux futuristes, de la technologie dernier cri et des lois qui s’étendent à l’univers tout entier. On va suivre le capitaine Albator, le corsaire insoumis, et l’équipage hétéroclite de son vaisseau fantôme l’arcadia dans une lutte contre le système pour la liberté de la terre. Visuellement, je suis partagé entre deux eaux. D’un côté j’ai trouvé les décors absolument magnifiques, mais d’un autre, j’ai trouvé que les personnages manquaient d’expressions visuelles et donc ne dégageaient pas grand chose, un peu comme une longue cinématique de jeu vidéo. . ✨Concernant l’histoire en elle même, je dois avouer que je me suis un peu ennuyé malgré quelques scènes d’action. Peut être que si j’avais connu l’histoire ou retrouvé le héros de mon enfance, la nostalgie aurait pu m’embarqué, mais pour le novice que je suis malheureusement ça m’a laissé sur le banc de touche. . After being delayed a couple of times, Challengers has finally graced cinema screens around the globe. Tashi Duncan (Zendaya), a former tennis prodigy turned coach makes no excuses for the person she is on and off the court. Married to Art Donaldson (Mike Faist), a champion who has been on somewhat of a losing streak, she signs him up for a smaller scale competition in hopes it’ll bring him redemption. He just has to face off against his former best friend and Tashi’s former flame Patrick Zweig (Josh O’Connor) first. Tennis may play an important part in the film, but at the center of it all is a love triangle. Zendaya delivers her most mature and captivating performance yet. Tashi was a magnetic character who didn’t care about anybody but herself and the way she commanded those boys was intriguing to watch. Faist and O’Connor held their own against her as well as each other; their bromance was one for the books and if you ask me, I think they should have been together, not fighting over who got to be with Tashi! That being said, all three had crazy chemistry that I won’t be recovering from anytime soon. Music helps amplify certain scenes and put you in the right frame of mind. The score that was used throughout was so unlike any that I have ever experienced before. It was loud and pulsating especially during the big tennis match. That mixed with the unique way in which it was shot was a palette not only for the ears but for the eyes too. To help bridge the gap between the past and the present, there were multiple flashbacks. The first one really set the stage. After a while, it started skipping around a bit too much and was hard to keep track of. As a result, the big match almost seemed to take a backseat while simultaneously feeling like it lasted far too long. My expectations for Challengers was pretty high and for the most part I feel like it delivered. Thanks to the stunning performance from our three leads and the direction of Luca Guadagnino, this is a film that tingled all of my senses while also staying true to such a beloved sport. From the trailer alone, it looked a lot of fun. Well, the first 20 minutes started off a bit slow and some parts were a bit predictable. Rather than that, I had an amazing time with this, it was a blast. Bill Skarsgard was pretty awesome. You know, he is such an amazing actor, he doesn't need any dialogue. Plus, I really enjoyed watching Jessica Rothe in this and it is great to see Famke Janssen. And love all the action sequences, they were outstanding. Especially when he uses his inner voice, love the humor throughout this movie. Overall, this is a fun, entertaining movie. The Crow is a 1994 American superhero film directed by Alex Proyas and written by David J. Schow and John Shirley, based on the 1989 comic book series by James O’Barr. It stars Brandon Lee, in his final film appearance, as Eric Draven, a musician who is resurrected from the dead to seek vengeance against the gang who murdered him and his fiancée. It probably goes without saying, but Brandon Lee is simply fantastic in the main role. For those who might be unaware, this actor was the son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee. Similar to his father, he possessed a power and intensity that is clear as day on-screen. However, Brandon maintains his own identity and significant impact through his performances as well, and he especially demonstrates that here. He can perfectly switch from wounded to darkly humorous to vicious to achingly sincere, and the raw hurt of what he’s experienced and lost is evident in every frame. And, when his fights and violent acts occur in this movie, Lee grits his teeth and moves with a speed and power that is impressive and perfectly matches the passion that drives his quest. Regardless of what the time or circumstances are, The Crow will always soar high and majestically maintain its presence as one of my favorite films from the 90’s and one of my all-time favorite movies, in general.
