A tale of two halves ✨️ Part 2 🏰 I don't get to set down an arrangement next to a medieval flail (yes I had to look it up) very often, but when the weddings set in a fairytale castle you must expect the unexpected. The dark plums of the reception flowers were a beautiful unexpected suprise for F & S's guests as the ceremony room was adorned with fresh whites and greens, with a touch of blush pink for the bride. Handpicked funeral flowers 🌷 A few weeks ago Fiona got in touch after enjoying a bunch of our seasonal homegrown flowers from Stones in St Just. She was looking for a funeral tribute that would meet her Fathers request of only using seasonal local foliage and flowers from the cornish landscape he loved, whilst also sensitively addressing her Mums worries of having a bare casket during the service. The resulting conversation led to this spray, comprised entirely of foliage and flowers grown by myself in St Just or from the hedgerows of the field. The service was being held at the miners Chapel in St Just, so to know that everything was as local as possible was really important to the family. Gorse was a requested must have, which I happily included, however it must be noted I should have charged danger money for the handling of that material!! 😅 so let's keep the gorse requests to a minimum please. What a glorious weekend wedding 💍 Emma and Matt were such a lovely couple to deal with. Though I think its safe to say Emma was head of team organisation and Matt was just happily along for the ride. A weekend of two halves. On Friday it was local fresh cut flowers for a wedding on Saturday (post to follow) On Saturday it was a feminine mix of pastels for the wedding of Sarah and Chris @stivesharbourhotel on Sunday. Sundays wedding was freelance work for the lovely Bev of @ballooningbudsandbows . Bev had completed all the bridal consultations and all the flowers were ready and waiting for me to collect, so it was just the creative making and delivery, with no paperwork, what a dream!! Bev has been instrumental to my floristry journey. For Roger, who clearly had dear friends that will miss him deeply, both here and abroad. His tributes included bright cornish spring flowers such as yellow tulips and scented sweet williams, accompanied by a soft palette of greens, including scented rosemary and hawthorn from the cutting garden to create to a spring meadow like wreath.
