Honest test and evaluation. I was recently sent a set of @ottoengineering NoizeBarrier Micro earplugs. I've always been skeptical of the capability of electronic earplugs but lately I've seen too many friends like @nalkinburgh and @loftrick77 using them to not look into them. After this weekend, I can give these an A+ rating thus far after using them to sight in a 300 Win Mag hunting rifle, using it on my defensive shotgun course, and surrounded by ARs in the Performance Carbine class. The Pros: The comfort of not having sweaty earmuffs on my head on hot days The ability to hear instructions clearly but have peaks in DBs blocked out The ability to recharge each time the plugs are placed back in the case Two different modes. Low and high. With a set of ballistic sunglasses, travel ear and eye pro takes up minimal space. Cons: Makes me realize I need to clean my ears (gross) but that's more my problem Currently looking into a method to convert cheap disposable foam plugs to work with the electronic body if a plug is lost. I'm not done with this review yet but I'm happy to say out of 3 days on the range with 2 being over 6 hrs long, these are legit. Took out North Face's Futurelight Summit Pro jacket for a run in varying #pnw rainy conditions. Fun jacket - stayed dry from rain, some sweat inside, though it was probably a bit warm for long pants and a jacket. Some noticeable features like the top side of the cuff being a bit longer than the bottom side of the cuff. Really appreciate the bright yellow color for low light conditions. USWE Pace 14L Trail Running Vest (in red) - holds up to 3L of water and has the perfect amount of space for all my wetland field gear including snacks. If your a woman in natural resources field work you know the struggle of a good survey vest/ pack combo that fits comfortably and doesn’t get you snagged up in thick vegetation.
