✨Day 4 ✨ Christmas Eve ~ part 2✨ Grand Floridian✨ It seems that our Christmas Eve tradition is now an evening trip to the Grand Floridian 🥰 the most stunning hotel on property which feels even more magical at Christmas with the beautiful tree and the quite outstanding ginger bread house 🧡 and the cherry on the top on Christmas Eve is that you can meet Santa in the lobby 🎅🏻 We got there a little early to make sure we had time to wander around the lobby, take plenty of photos and soak in the ginger bread smell and Christmas Eve excitement ✨ I had some photos taken by a fantastic Photopass photographer who had me in stitches (see the silly photos 🙈) Then we made our way to our reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe.. I was disappointed to not have our usual table in the back to catch glimpses of the fireworks, we were towards the front but I could just about see them in I strained my neck 😂🙈 I wasn't as thrilled with the food this time either which was a real shame as GF Cafe is usually a firm favourite. The lobster thermidor wasn't on the menu anymore 😢 so I went for the signature burger instead, with a ceasar salad. I couldn't finish it all.. pro tip: don't eat around the world before going out for a meal 😝 After our food we had a wander around the shops in the Grand Flo before getting the monorail over to the Poly for a stroll around there. #waltdisneyworld #disney #grandfloridian #grandfloridiancafe #disneyblog #disneysavesme #disneysavesmeblog

🥂 Sunday Brunch - The Best Disney Breakfasts part 1🥂 Over the next few weeks I'll be doing a round up of my favourite Breakfasts and Brunches at Disney! Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day so I love trying out different options. From sit down meals to grab and go, there's something for everyone. Most importantly, eating a good breakfast means we can usually skip lunch at the peak times and avoid the crowds. First up is Grand Floridian Cafe, which has become a bit of a tradition for us when we visit Walt Disney World. I love the Lobster Eggs Benedict, paired with a Grand Mimosa, which has a splash of Grand Marnier Liquor. Delish 🥂🦂 I also highly recommend taking advantage of the resort dining options near the parks. It's a short boat, or monorail ride to Grand Floridian from Magic Kingdom, or you can walk if you're keen. And it's a nice reprieve from the heat and crowds to pop out for an hour or so for a break. On this day: 1 year ago 💕 Day 2 of our month long Disney trip was resort hopping day! For those of you who aren’t crazy Disney fans, resort hopping essentially means visiting a bunch of nearby resorts. On Walt Disney World property there are 21 different hotels, located in different areas of the parks. We were staying in the Magic Kingdom area, so we could take the monorail to 3 other resorts (hotels) super easy! We started at the Grand Floridian hotel for brunch and the food here is amazing! One of the best avocado toasts ever! Not to mention massive Mickey waffles 😍😍 We explored the hotel for a bit and then headed over to the Polynesian Resort for drinks at Trader Sams Grog Grotto and Tiki Bar 🥂 now this place is super cool because not only does it have amazing cocktails but a lot of the decorations have special effects that are triggered by guests ordering specific cocktails. During December my Disney bestie and I met at the Grand Floridian to tour the resorts and a few of the spectacular holiday gingerbread displays. I’m just now posting because I had so much fun content to share in December that this got “set aside”. We treated ourselves to a stunning lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Service was top tier as was the food! I had the Caramelized Onion Soup Gratin (French Onion Soup) and Heirloom Apple Salad with Organic Baby Lettuce, Heirloom Apples, Sharp Cheddar, Pecan Brittle, grilled chicken and Crispy Prosciutto with a Honey-Apple Vinaigrette 👌🏼 Rachel enjoyed her Miso-glazed Salmon, Lemon-scented Sticky Rice, French Beans, and Ginger-Soy Vinaigrette. No dessert this time around as we were there on a Christmas cookie mission! Although everything was delicious, I have definitely had more worthy (of my $) dines at Disney. I would only recommend getting a reservation at Disney’s Grand Floridian Cafe if you wanted to get onto this property for another reason (enjoying the ambiance, monorail hopping, holiday visits). #december December was mostly a good month. I really enjoyed all the Christmas decorations all around Disney, and had lots of quality time with the people around me. However, it was also a bit much juggling work, exams and training for a marathon in January. I also missed my family and friends back home in Norway. Last time I was on the program something traumatic happened, so the holidays stirred up some unpleasant memories and emotions. Has anyone tried the Heirloom Apple Salad from GF Cafe? It was a great choice for a lighter meal, or you can add chicken to it for something heavier. I've had it both ways, and both were good. The Grand Floridian Cafe Signature Burger was everything! The burger was topped with bacon-pepper jam, garlic aioli, arugula, and brie on a brioche bun. The Grand Floridian is ready for Christmas! The name really speaks for itself. It really is so GRAND! It is hands down my favorite Disney resort. It's just breathtaking. My partner and I had brunch at the Grand Floridian cafe and it was outstanding. Shout out to Sergio for being an incredible server. I loved discovering new hidden decor around the resort. Such as the subtle marble murals of Mickey and his pals. My partner and I also took the opportunity to take a pictures either Cinderella's glass slipper! They have a photopass opportunity on the second floor by the grand staircase.
