Ainda assim, o estilo de narrativa fragmentada termina fazendo o roteiro acreditar q tá tudo bem simplesmente apresentar elementos de trama e até camadas de personagens secundários q jamais vão ser mencionadas novamente ou desenvolvidas, além de subtextos q mereciam mais expansão, e isso sim diminui bastante o filme. Training Day, par Antoine Fuqua 2001 - Policier / Hood movie --- Training Day est une bonne surprise. Ce long métrage à l'apparence d'un buddy movie cache finalement plus qu'un simple duo de flic. Et cette tendance apparaît dès la scène d'exposition, qui prend une note grave quant à l'avenir de ce flic, qui semble ne plus croire en ses capacités. Pourtant, dès lors, les trente minutes suivantes sont dans une veine comique. Même si certains thèmes durs font leur apparition, et que l'on retrouve quelques éléments qui caractérise la rue, le personnage de Denzel Washington semble sûr de lui et enseigne ses leçons à un Ethan Hawke lucide, qui semble déjà se rendre compte du caractère mauvais du personnage. En effet, ce n'est que le début d'une descente aux enfers pour ce flic qui va devoir apprendre sur le tas et laisser ses sentiments de côté face aux méthodes employées. Par la photographie et l'atmosphère sombre, la journée d'apprentissage (titre du film) s'assombrit au fil du temps, et les affaires traitées deviennent de plus en plus sérieuses. Et si quelques seconds rôles sympas comme celui de Snoop Dogg viennent relâcher l'atmosphère, la pression ne quitte jamais vraiment le duo, et l'action est ponctué par de longs moments de remise en question dans la voiture. La performance du duo est indéniable, et inscrit immédiatement le long métrage dans la catégorie des excellents polars. Pour conclure, la corruption qui gangrène le système à tous les niveaux ne peut qu'augmenter la tension du climax qui s'avère libérateur pour le personnage de Ethan Hawke comme pour nous.
