Basil was a bishop who defended the faith against the Arian heresy. Modern conservatives love to quote from Psalm 14, “The fool says in his heart there is no God.” Basil’s homily here concentrates on the second half of the Psalm, which indicts evildoers who devour God’s people as though eating bread. Basil sees this sin as being about harming the temporally poor, and as being prevalent in his day to remind parishioners in a sermon. He decries usurers who would hope for hard times, so that they would be better poised to take advantage of a more-desperate poor. Basil warns them that they are gaining more sin than they are increasing in wealth. Could the fools God speaks of in verse 1 be the same who commit crimes in verses 4 and 6– may we look at those who commit the v. 4 and v. 6 as showing evidence of the mistake of v. 1? Is it at all possible for a Christian to be an effective advocate against heresies like Arianism, and at the same time, to use pulpit time to micromanage the financial affairs of respectable businesspeople who contribute to your congregation every week? Warum darüber diskutiert wird, OB es ein Genozid ist. Warum einfach so staatliche Maßnahmen ergriffen werden können, die die politische Führung Israels in der Fortsetzung des Genozids aktiv unterstützen? Warum nicht die gesamte Menschheit entsetzt ist, zusammenrückt und Seite an Seite mit dem palästinensischen Volk & jedem Menschen steht, dessen Leben von der politischen Elite eliminiert werden soll. Warum noch immer ein betäubendes Schweigen in den spirituellen, therapeutischen und ökologischen Kreisen herrscht, die sich sonst so lautstark für Frieden, Veränderung und Heilung einsetzen? Es lässt mich fragen, Frieden für wen? Heilung für wen? (Alles rhetorische Fragen, in die ich hinleben möchte, weil ich an Menschlichkeit & Veränderung glaube, auch wenn die Antworten allzu deutlich sind.) Ich verstehe, dass es Räume braucht, in denen wir aufladen und uns erholen können. In denen wir heilen können. Ich verstehe dieses Argument (häufig DAS Argument für das Schweigen in Spiri-Kreisen) und doch verstehe ich es nicht. Denn wie können wir Erholung und Heilung nur für uns denken? Wie können wir ignorieren, dass Erholung und Heilung Hand in Hand gehen mit der Regulation von Nervensystemen, die per ihrer Existenz verbunden mit allen Nervensystemen der Erde sind? Wie soll es möglich sein, dass individuelle Regulation geschieht, wenn das Kollektiv als Ganzes dysreguliert ist? Wie können wir ausblenden, was in der Welt passiert, um unseren inneren 'Frieden' zu kultivieren, wenn dieser Frieden inhärent mit dem Frieden aller Lebewesen verbunden ist? Wie können wir nicht sehen, dass Genozide auch Ökozide sind? Wie können wir argumentieren, dass es Räume braucht, die nicht politisch sind - wenn alles, was ist, politisch ist? Wie können wir nicht verstehen, dass politisch menschlich bedeutet? Wie können wir wegschauen und von Revolution, von kollektiver Heilung und der 'neuen' Erde sprechen? Wir brauchen keine neue Erde. Wir brauchen gelebte Menschlichkeit. Hier und jetzt. Ceasefire now.

The most pervasive problems less addressed in society do not come down to race or color, but rather culture. Culture is defined by the values and practices we live by, not by our race or color. Therefore I compare the “culture of humanity” with the “culture of whiteness” because the very system of color and race stem from the latter. As we assign the character of culture to recognize its face, understand again that people display traits counter to their hue all the time which supports the original statement that it is not about color or race. For example, there are white people that I know who exhibit values and practices NOT founded in white culture. Equally so, there are black and brown people that I know who exemplify values and practices NOT founded in what would be perceived as black or brown culture. The goal for this is to influence action across people, no matter their color or culture, that improves the world WE ALL LIVE in. Please feel free to speak your peace in the comments. In less than a week, we along with multiple community members initiated the implementation of the #inourshoes campaign as part of initiative to raise awareness about the profound tragedy in Gaza, where empty shoes, bearing the names and information of the deceased, were to be prominently featured. We're thankful to the City of Alpharetta Mayor's office for their collaboration in making a positive impact on our local community. The heart of this campaign was a Symbolic Silent Awareness Exhibit for the Children of Gaza, which successfully conveyed a powerful message of humanity. So on this International Day of the Girl , I like to say that every girl has a right to safety, protection, education and a future. A feature where she has an opportunity to fulfill her dreams. . One of our projects “Break The Stigmatization” works to break the stigmatization, create an awareness about the adverse effect of that stigmatization on children, who do not have leprosy, but continue to face adversity alongside their parents. The project also works with communities to create a safe,and inclusive place, where the girls can stay in school, feel seen ,heard and can thrive. . Westerners and visa holders trying to get to their flights say they are unable to get to the gates because of the crowd of up to 50,000 desperate locals who are gathering at the gates. While US and UK troops have said that firing warning shots is a last resort, the Taliban have been filmed today shooting from the hip just yards away from women and children, and whacking people with the butts of their rifles. Sadly, the chaos outside the airport appears to be growing by the day and is causing dangerous stampedes in which several people have already been killed this week, including a 14-year-old girl.
