I love thinking about the unique shape carved out for each of us in the world when I start wondering wtf I’m doing and why any of it matters (not in a morbid way, just in a curious way.) For me, the beauty, the fun, the meaning, the whole point of it all is the fact that none of it is duplicable. repeatable. replicable. Literally none of this can ever happen again in the way that it’s happening now. It’s so singular and unique, and that’s what makes it so special and so painful all at the same time. Who you are and who I am is so meticulously, minutely unique. I can’t fit where you fit. You can’t fit where I fit. My shape is mine. Yours is yours. There will never be anyone exactly like you or me. And that’s our superpower. That’s the point: to live into that unique shape and find all the places in the world where it fits and kindly leave the places it doesn’t. I grieve all the time lost trying to be a shape I wasn’t. … The extent of the damage the abuse had done to me mentally & physically broke me… But I was finally able to brake free from their iron grasp around my life… In Intrabit I compared it to metal hugs when Lillian was held captive by Gabriel. In my reality, I was the one my father was using his fists and rage on, his accomplice being my mom, his loyal wife… When speaking to Ruby in the ivy building in the first book, I made a reference to mistakes… whether societal or personal… I did terrible things because I had no reference point of how to cope in my new world or any genuinely strong figures to learn from in my mind… I lashed out, connected with the wrong people, pushed away the right, and burned bridges. Then committed to a path of lies and decisions that left me asking, “Why?”… It took a lot of self-reflection and many apologies without the expectation of forgiveness to move forward. … My next set is a reflection of pain and torment I’ve experienced that was meant to break me… “to make me a good wife”… and the strength it took to stand up and fight… (Trigger Warning: Abuse)… I have stopped blaming my past and began working for a more productive future that would shine bright… As much as I once wished to seek justice for my upbringing, I unfortunately can’t. My parents destroyed my credibility by fogging up my memories… They used to drug me to abuse me… I know I was hurt because I’d have cuts, bruises, and scars… I, as a child, knew what it felt like to be touched intimately… but the big picture was foggy… Which they did purposefully… to ruin any credibility I would have in the courts. But I’ve healed over time… “To see the world in a grain of sand… And a heaven in a wild flower… Hold infinity in the palm of your hand… And eternity in an hour”… 🕰️ I find peace in the words of so many people… I’ve learned perspective and have experienced a true sense of evolution. AI has become one of the most-used tools in the workplace, but what happens when it does more harm than good? Valentin Hofmann at the Allen Institute for AI, a non-profit research organization in Washington state, shared a post on X about the underlying racism in AI tools like OpenAI. 😡 Using dialect alone, chatbots are making suggestions based on racial stereotypes, even after anti-racism training. Totally unacceptable. This causes actual harm to marginalized groups, especially when so many people across industries rely on AI to boost productivity. 💼 When AI misinterprets or misuses African American Vernacular English (AAVE), it’s not just a tech glitch — it’s a reinforcement of outdated, harmful stereotypes embedded in tech. This isn’t just about getting the language right, it's about respect and recognition. We need to hold our tech to higher standards because with such a high volume of use, bias in AI can lead to real-world impacts on real people’s lives. 👎 Tech is created by people and we expect better from those leading innovation. We need to rethink how we use and train our AIs, because the current process isn't working.
