Imprisoned Mind. "The past has no power over the present moment." (Eckhart Tolle.) I remember roughly 5 years ago taking some images in London that put me in stupid danger. Having recognised something was not quite right I booked myself into a couple of therapy sessions, or so I thought. 3 years later after weekly sessions I could only then realise how I was imprisoning myself because of my past. And the stupid thing was (1) I only imagined how bad I was (2) I felt those past matters were what defined who I was now. I took stupid risks because my self worth was so low I felt I deserved to be hurt if it happened. Fortunately it never did. But those thoughts about how useless, how much a failure, how dirty and grubby I was held me imprisoned as much as any prison wall, at least in my mind. Those thoughts chained me as tightly as any handcuff. I had wanted to visit Shepton Mallet Prison museum for some time but was worried the metaphors would be too powerful. I was delighted that the way my past was released through therapy, how strength was identified in my love of photography has now allowed me to visit and to do so recognising how far I have come and how much baggage has been released. So I want to literally beg you if you are where I was, your past does not define you. Indeed, as I discovered most of it was in my mind anyway. Give yourself permission to see the strength, beauty and wonderful within you. Know you are unique and amazing. R Gavai and Justice Sandeep Mehta passed a Judgment dated 22-04-2024 in the matter of Kariman vs. The State of Chhattisgarh Criminal Appeal No. 2193 / 2024 and observed that the Accused can only be held responsible for knowing that the injury inflicted by him was likely to cause death. Therefore, there is no criminal intent to cause death or cause bodily harm that was likely to cause death. A Federal Grand Jury has indicted the owner and captain of two crab catcher vessels for illegally transporting crab. The owner of the boats, Corey Potter, and captains Justin Welch and Kyle Potter allegedly harvested more than 7,000 pounds of Tanner and golden king crab in Southeast Alaska. U.S. attorneys say the crab was then taken to Seattle to be sold, and the harvest was never recorded in Alaska. Some of the crab aboard was infected with Bitter Crab Syndrome and some 4,000 pounds of Tanner crab were destroyed due to the risk of infection. Prosecutors argue that if the crab had been properly handled in Alaska, that issue would never have made it to Washington state. "Corey Potter is charged with two counts of unlawful transportation of fish or wildlife in violation of 16 U.S.C. 3372(a)(2)(A) and 3373(d)(1)(B), and Justin Welch and Kyle Potter are both charged with one count of the same violation." Orang yang tidak aku curigai sebelumnya, benar-benar tidak terprediksi. Alur pun sedikit berkelok ke arah tidak terduga, meski aku sedikit merasa adanya kebetulan atau bahasa halusnya sedikit maksa. . Di permukaan, cerita ini berjalan seperti biasa saja. Tentang curhatan. Namun, kalau mau ditelusuri lebih jauh lagi, ada komunikasi yang terputus antara suami-istri, isu patriarki, dan juga keberhargaan diri yang mulai tergerus oleh realita. Ya, realita hidup kadang memang sekejam itu. Dan, seperti yang sudah-sudah, buku ini juga masuk buku favorit aku, kecuali Gisele. Aku masih nggak suka sama cerita satu itu. Amir Sarfaraz, the infamous Pakistani underworld figure who may have been responsible for the assassination of Indian national Sarabjit Singh in jail, has been assassinated himself by unknown assailants in Lahore. The attack took place at Amir Sarfaraz’s home in the Islampura area, where motorcycle-borne assailants shot him multiple times. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Sarfaraz succumbed to his injuries. Sarabjit Singh had been accused, and convicted of spying in Pakistan, and killing 14 in terror attacks. Singh was sentenced to death and would spend the rest of his life in prison, however his family and Indian officials always maintained his innocence.
