Wanneer je met persoonlijke ontwikkeling, therapie, traumaverwerking etc aan de slag gaat, kom je vaak ergens in het proces in 'niemandsland' terecht. 🤍 Daar waar je voelt en merkt dat het oude niet meer werkt en je dat ook niet meer wilt, maar waar je nog geen nieuwe (vertrouwde) gewoonten hebt ontwikkeld. 🧡Je systeem vind deze plek, wat je de antwoorden nog niet weet niet altijd prettig. Voorspelbaarheid geeft immers (schijn)zekerheid en dat is veilig. 💜Het is de moeite waard om eens nieuwsgierig rond te kijken op deze plek. Haal adem, vertrouw erop dat je de vaardigheden hebt om je nieuwe pad te leren zien en te leren vormgeven. Zo zal de stress die je systeem ervaart afnemen. Daar waar je de stappen durft te zetten, zal het pad zich ontvouwen... 💚Is het even lastig? Ga dan een moment rustig zitten, adem 3 tellen rustig in door je neus en 6 tellen uit door getuite lippen. Verbind je in gedachten met het grotere geheel, door dit te visualiseren. GA IK NIET HYPERVENTILEREN TIJDENS EEN ADEMSESSIE? Deze vraag krijg ik vaak van mensen die nog niet eerder een verbonden ademsessie hebben ervaren. Ik snap deze angst heel goed, want ik kom er zelf ook vandaan. Hyperventilatie heeft te maken met een onbalans tussen zuurstof en koolstofdioxide in het bloed en komt door een snelle en diepe ademhaling en kan symptomen veroorzaken als o.a. duizeligheid en tintelingen in het lichaam. Hyperventilatie is het gevolg van een geforceerde, onnatuurlijke, angst gerelateerde manier van ademen. En dat is precies het verschil tijdens een verbonden ademsessie. Hoewel we hier ook gaan spelen met deze balans, de ademhaling snel is en ongemakkelijk kan aanvoelen, gaan we nu in een veilige omgeving op een gecontroleerde en bewuste manier de in- en uitademing aan elkaar verbinden (we laten de pauze weg). Door deze manier van ademen openen we het ademhalingssysteem, herstellen we voorzichtig de balans en krijg je meer zuurstof in het bloed en komen er endorfines vrij in het lichaam. En ook hier gaat het lichaam reageren in de vorm van lichamelijke sensaties, de tintelingen, verkrampingen die kunnen ontstaan horen echt bij het proces. Maar je zakt steeds dieper in het lijf en de hersenen krijgen steeds minder controle. Dit is vaak het moment waarop het lichaam zich begint te openen en energie en emoties vrij door het lichaam kunnen bewegen, zelfs die emoties die al een leven lang onderdrukt zijn. Alleen nu ademen we volledig door de emoties heen in plaats van dat we ze met de adem vastzetten, en dan voel je dat je niets gebeurt als je de emoties toelaat. Je bent in de veiligheid van nu aan het ontladen. En wordt het allemaal te intens voor je, weet dan dat jij de regisseur bent, jij bepaalt de intensiteit. En dat kan door je adem zachter en iets oppervlakkiger te maken totdat je het gevoel hebt dat je er weer aan toe bent om je adem te verdiepen/versnellen. Ik zal jou altijd helpen om door de weerstand heen te durven gaan, waarbij je mag onthouden dat de adem het 'gereedschap' is waar je mee werkt, die jij zelf in handen hebt en waarbij je lichaam je boek is, dat alles vanaf conceptie heeft onthouden. 🌸

Dat is lang mijn tactiek geweest, want zolang je het niet aankijkt is het er niet. Toen ik besefte dat deze tactiek niet werkte, heb ik de stap gezet om te gaan praten. Praten praten praten… maar ook daarmee kwam ik niet bij de kern. Uiteindelijk kwam ik uit bij lichaam & ademwerk en daarmee bereikte ik waar ik behoefte aan had: verwerking en rust! Wel op mijn tempo, want je lijf bepaald 🙏🏼. Durf jij buiten je comfortzone te stappen ? Niet meer vermijden, maar aangaan! Kom je met praten ook niet tot de kern waar je juist wil komen?
