Una storia cruda e ben interpretata da tutti gli attori che ci mostrano una realtà americana ancora intrisa di razzismo nonostante i passi avanti che la società era già riuscita a fare soprattutto nel sud del paese. Carl Lee, un onesto lavoratore e padre di famiglia di colore, decide di farsi giustizia da solo su due criminali bianchi in attesa di processo per aver stuprato e tentato di uccidere sua figlia, ma che quasi sicuramente se la sarebbero cavata. Revisiting the 90’s Batman films with my older kids this month was…interesting. Crazy to see how much movies have changed and developed in even just a few decades! The Burton/Keaton episodes were classic, but definitely feeling their age. Batman Forever was better than I remembered it, and Batman & Robin was far worse lol. Dopo un paio di cocenti delusioni torniamo a parlare di grandi registi, e stavolta voglio parlare del fu #joelshumacher, e del suo #ilmomentodiuccidere, del 1996. Alcuni non saranno d'accordo nel definire il signor Schumacher un grande regista, visto che molti lo ricordano per aver fatto i "peggiori" film di #batman, ma io invece provo simpatia per lui, e trovo ingiusto dargli la colpa per aver fatto quello che gli era stato chiesto dai produttori. Inoltre, con questo ho visto quattro suoi film, e con nessuno di questi ho rimpianto il mio tempo. Il film è un legal drama, anche piuttosto lungo, due ore e mezza, che però scorre senza problemi, in cui possiamo apprezzare le performance del ricco cast. Abbiamo #matthewmcconaughey, che interpreta Jack Brigance, l'avvocato di Carl Lee, #sandrabullock, #oliverplatt e #donaldsutherland che sono il suo team, #kevinspacey come Rufus Buckley, l' avvocato dell'accusa e #keifersutherland, che diventa il leader dei razzisti, così estremisti da ritirare fuori il kkk. Ve lo consiglio? Per i temi trattati può non essere una pellicola per tutti, ma io vi ho trovato un'ode all'empatia, e al saper mostrare umanità al nostro prossimo, anche se di un' etnia diversa.
