💛Book Review💛 “Not Here To Make Friends’ by @jodimcalister *thank you to @simonschusterau for sending me this arc for an honest review After reading book 2 in the series ‘Can I Steal You For A Second’ last year, I was excited to hear Jodi McAlister was writing Murray and Lily’s story and it did not disappoint. ‘Not Here To Make Friends’ is the story we were all screaming for. The author gave us the point of view from both main characters which worked really well in getting the reader to connect to both Murray and Lily and also gave us an insight to reality TV that gives me a whole new perspective when watching any of these shows in the future. This is a well written book that made me feel like I was part of the reality tv series watching from the sidelines. With several laugh out loud moments (Lily is so fun to read), a nice amount of spice and many endearing scenes (one in particular, involving Lily pouring her heart out) had me feeling all the emotions. This book is part of a series, but can easily be read as a standalone. I’m yet to read book 1, but will be adding it to my tbr 📚 I love the authors style of writing. Then, I attended an event at Broadbeach Library that the author of said book was the guest speaker Then, I got to meet this amazing author and get my book signed. Sundays are for swimming and reading by the pool. It’s been a busy week and I’ve had no time to read, so when I had a spare hour yesterday, I swam and then set myself up by the pool to finish ‘Can I Steal You for a Second? by @jodimcalister I loved this book from start to finish. A romantic comedy set around a reality tv show that focuses on friendships, relationships, love and the drama that goes along with being on reality tv. The characters were so well written, that I felt a real connection with them, especially Dylan and Amanda, and the ending was so beautifully done, I read it through twice to take it all in. Hopefully there’ll be a follow on book with some of the other characters’ storyline.
