Miejsce się nie zwolniło i nie zwolni 🤭 Z pozoru akcja toczy się dosyć powoli, do momentu pewnego listu z kancelarii prawnej. Panna Marple dostaje zagadkę bez wskazówek…dla niej samej wydaje się to niewykonalne, ale z czasem akcja nabiera tempa. Zostałam wciągnięta w pewną wycieczkę, pełna botaniki i architektury. Wtedy Panna Marple dostaje pewne niejasne wskazówki i zaczyna się akcja. Panna Marple ze swoim nosem do wyczuwania zła i niezwykłym spostrzegawczym wzrokiem wchodzi wprost środek cyklonu jakim jest m*rderstwo. Jednak nic nie jest takie proste jak na pierwszy rzut oka, sama sprawa wydarzyła się dość dawno temu (kilka lat) więc sami rozumiecie, że Panna Marple zaczyna dosłownie od początku. Sam tytuł wyjaśni się z czasem chyba, że czytaliście „Karaibska tajemnica” to zauważycie znaczące powiązanie. W tej książce jednak chodzi o silne uczucie, które może posunąć się do straszliwych czynów. Ao saber da morte de Paul Auster, voltei aos livros do escritor norte-americano, abri-os, folheeio-os, reli os sublinhados. Por momentos, voltei ao tempo em que lia os seus romances com muito prazer. De todos, destaco o "O Livro das Ilusões", porque foi o que fez a ponte para tantos outros. Lembro-me de uma gripe severa, que me deixou de cama alguns dias, tendo lido, febrilmente, "O Livro das Ilusões". Gostei tanto. Quando queria reler alguma coisa de Paul Auster , voltava sempre ao "Inventar a Solidão", porque sabia que ia resgatar alguma frase. "Põe uma folha em branco na mesa à sua frente e escreve estas palavras com a sua caneta. Foi. Nunca mais voltará a ser". O acaso e a solidão estão quase sempre nos seus livros. Foram estes os elementos que me levaram a ser fã da obra do escritor. "Por vezes, é como se deambulássemos por um cidade sem qualquer objectivo. Descemos uma rua, metemos ao acaso por outra rua, paramos a admirar (...). Por vezes, enquanto caminhamos pela cidade, dir-se-ia que não vamos para lado nenhum, que apenas procuramos uma maneira de passar o tempo, e que só o nosso cansaço nos diz onde e quando devemos parar". Por último, quero recordar uma data: 1980, ano em que foi editado um texto importante de Paul Auster, cujo título é "White Spaces" (Espaços em Branco). Foi escrito por causa de um bloqueio criativo do escritor que marcou a transição entre os seus livros de poesia e os romances mais conhecidos que viria a publicar nas décadas de 80 e 90. Tak oto dobiegła końca wspaniała trylogia “Wspomnienie o przeszłości Ziemi” Cixin Liu , a wraz z nią podróż przez eony zawartej w niej historii. W trzeciej części mamy nawiązanie do pierwszego tomu “Problem trzech ciał”, jak i drugiego “Ciemny las”. Właściwie część historii toczy się równolegle do wydarzeń z drugiego tomu, jednocześnie opowiadając o innym projekcie z tamtego okresu, by później połączyć wszystko w całość, z którą odkryjemy, do czego doprowadziły oba projekty i jaki miały wpływ na stworzoną przez autora wizję. Oczywiście nie są to jedyne projekty, bo powieść jest rozbudowana, a wizje przeszły moje wyobrażenia. Ostatnia część również toczy się niespiesznie i chociaż są w niej zawarte wydarzenia z nieskończoności czasu, autor znalazł sposób na przedstawienie ludzi w całej rozciągłości powieści. Jest naukowo i baśniowo, filozoficznie i zagadkowo, ale przede wszystkim rządzi tu fizyka. Cała trylogia nie skupia się na bohaterach, nie są oni najważniejsi - służą jedynie do przekazania historii, przedstawienia cech nas - ludzi i naszej natury, człowieczeństwa i jego udziału w przetrwaniu we wszechświecie, a nawet przetrwaniu wszechświata. “Jeśli wyzbędziemy się naszej ludzkiej natury, dużo stracimy, ale jeśli wyzbędziemy się jej zwierzęcej części, stracimy wszystko.” Która natura wygra ? 📚Book Review📚 The Axeman’s Carnival by Catherine Chidgey 336 pages COMING AUGUST 13, 2024 ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ When my Aunt Rosalie sent me The Axeman’s Carnival, I put it aside because the cover just didn’t do it for me. A big black magpie next to an axe? It didn’t appeal to me. For some reason, I recently picked it up and adored this book so much!! 5 stars for writing, creativity and being so different than what I could ever imagine writing. Marnie lives with Rob, a sheep farmer in an isolated area of New Zealand. One day a magpie baby falls out of a tree and Marnie takes it as her own. Tama, the magpie tells this story from his perspective as he becomes an internet star who can speak English. He becomes Marnie’s confident, as she suffers an abusive marriage. Tama is pulled between his home with Marnie and the animal world. I mean my description just doesn’t do it justice. You have to read this one. My reading experience reminded me of Shark Heart and I put it in the same category as a book that you read and think WOW. Never thought I was going to love that like I do. Anyway, Europa Editions is publishing THE AXEMAN’S CARNIVAL in August in the U.S. I quickly borrowed Catherine Chidgey’s Pet and I am loving it as well. Every year, I start off strong with my reading then after 3 months I taper off into reading very little and very random picks then I end the year with the last 3 months strong. Spannend boek met heden en verleden (hoe is het zover gekomen). Een ontvoering, een verstandshuwelijk, een paar verdwijningen, en eigen rechter spelen zijn we goede ingrediënten. Het laatste deel is de uitleg van wat er is gebeurd, en die vond ik wat zwak. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📚’De weduwen’ van Pascal Engman. Spannende pageturner over het al dan niet veredelen van aanslag. Veel personages die langzaam maar zeker steeds meer verband met elkaar krijgen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🎧’Essentialisme’ van Greg McKeown. Dit boek luisterde ik half. Haalde er wel een paar tips uit die ik ga toepassen. Ich war erst etwas skeptisch, da ich die Erzählersicht gar nicht mag, wurde dann aber trotzdem sehr positiv überrascht. Ich bin durch die Seiten geflogen, so gut war das Buch. Divine Rivals war so unerwartet besonders. Ich habe mitgefiebert, mitgelitten und bin innerlich verzweifelt. Das wird definitiv mein Monatshighlight im April! Ich habe mich ziemlich in alle Charaktere verliebt, vorallem in Iris und Roman! Aber auch die Nebencharaktere sind mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen. Von der Handlung passiert für ein Fantasy Buch tatsächlich wenig. Der magische Krieg ist Teil der Geschichte, aber die Protagonisten, die Beziehung und die Emotionen stehen mehr im Vordergrund. Mit dem Plott am Ende habe ich absolut gar nicht gerechnet und ich bin gespannt wie es in Band 2 weitergeht. I’ve read a couple of Steve Cavanagh’s books now and I’ve always enjoyed them. This one had two possible outcomes - was Daniel Miller’s wife an accomplice or not? I swayed across both sides and wasn’t sure either way before the last 25% of the book. Cavanagh’s storylines always have me hooked and I really enjoy the scenes played out in the court room. There was quite a big twist in the final 5 or 6 pages which I absolutely did not see coming. Leading up to those pages the story seemed to be all wrapped up then suddenly…..a twist….which I just love so close to the end making it worthwhile to finish those last pages.

I będzie musiała zdecydować komu ufa, a kto jej zagraża. 🧛🏼 Czekając na ten tom (szczególnie po zakończeniu poprzedniego) nie mogłam się doczekać aż dostanę odpowiedzi na masę pytań. Uwierzcie takie czekanie to katorga sama w sobie….ale! Czy jestem zadowolona z ostatniej części? Być może. Z kolei zakończenie mnie trochę zawiodło bo nawet go nie zapamiętałam więc nie było jakieś super… Nie bacząc już na samo zakończenie to podobała mi się, ale momentami czułam jakby jednak na trzech tomach powinna się zakończyć..albo skrócić trochę ostatnią część. Większych zastrzeżeń nie mam i naprawdę się cieszę bo dostałam odpowiedzi na pytania i mogłam z czystym sumieniem zakończyć historia Juliana i Thei. Przedstawia ona działania podejmowane przez różne formacje feministyczne od pierwszych buntów i akcji sufrażystek po współczesne formy. Autorka prezentuje nam, jak duży wpływ na feminizm mają uwarunkowania kulturowe, wydarzenia społeczne. Dzięki tej książce można w pełni uświadomić sobie, jak różnorodny jest feminizm. Wiele odłamów może mieć różne cele, wewnątrz mogą także pojawiać się konflikty, jest to rzecz której nie da się zmienić. Jednak mimo wielu podziałów, grupy feministyczne wiele łączy. “Feminizmy” są najprawdziwszą kopalnią wiedzy. Inspirują do refleksji nad przeszłością, teraźniejszością i tym co może czekać ruchy feministyczne. Powiedziałabym, że po części jest to książka stricte historyczna. Według mnie ta książka jest rewelacyjną pozycją, dającą niezwykłą możliwość wejrzenia nieco bardziej w głąb feminizmu.

Beides aber im positiven Sinne, denn der Autorin ist es hervorragend gelungen mich hinters Licht zuführen. Livia ist die Beste Metapher für eine gebrochene Seele mit einer versteckten Maske. Sie hat von Anfang an mit sich selbst gekämpft und alles in sich verschlungen. Ihr Charakter ist unglaublich stark! Nick war ein herzensguter Mensch und sah in ihr Sachen, die sie selbst nicht sah. Deren Tension und Spannung war unglaublich. Ich hab die beiden zusammen geliebt!! Der Schreibstyle war sehr flüssig sodass ich das Buch innerhalb eines Tages durchlesen konnte. Mein einziger Kritikpunkt ist die fehlende Sicht von Nick, weil ich weder seine Gedanken, Gefühle noch sein Verhalten und seine Entscheidungen so richtig nachvollziehen konnte. 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐻𝒶𝑔𝑔𝒾 𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓃𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 Amazon has this book listed as age 8-18 but I said I’d give it a read for a family friend. Firstly huge congratulations to @sr_easingwood on publishing his first book, what an accomplishment 👏🏼 I have to say, it’s clearly a child/teenage book but I did enjoy it & found it really easy to read. I could pick it up at any time and fully understand and follow the storyline. The book contains a large amount of Scottish slang spoken by the “Haggi” and whilst there is a glossary at the back for reference I think a child might find it quite difficult to read - though for me it wasn’t an issue and I could follow it easily. I felt the storyline was really imaginative creating a whole separate world of Haggi people and I think there’s room to expand on that and further develop the characters in future books should Stephen wish to. I really felt for Rowena (Duncan’s teacher) after all the bad luck she’s had in life. And that final paragraph about Davy gave me a huge awwwww🥰 moment.

Os traigo la reseña de este pedazo de libro. Es la primera vez que leo a Inma Rubiales, su pluma me ha atrapado por completo. No sabía lo que me iba a encontrar y he terminado sorprendida a la par que enamorada de Logan Turner (como para no hacerlo, ejem). Apenas me ha durado unos días el libro y solo puedo decir que tiene mis 5⭐️. En la historia encontramos temas de pérdida y superación, amistades tóxicas, baja autoestima, miedos y mucha valentía así como el trope de rivals to friends to lovers. Todo está tratado con cuidado y os juro que he llorado a mares. Nuestra protagonista, Leah, es una chica que quiere pasar desapercibida y ser invisible. Me he identificado en algunos aspectos con ella, sus reflexiones se me han clavado en el alma y hace que empatices mucho. Añado que el mundo necesita más gente como Sasha y Kenny, esos amigos que te agarran del brazo cuando todo tu mundo se derrumba (y menos como Linda). De Logan tengo que decir que es EL chico. Su faceta de chico duro esconde a una persona que está en proceso de sanación tras una dura pérdida, que se preocupa por 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒐 y que está 𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 🎨. Desde su primer encuentro con Leah hasta el final, es imposible soltarlo. La tensión, la evolución de su relación y cada momento juntos los he disfrutado. Voy a echarles mucho de menos. Gracias Inma por esta historia, has sido todo un descubrimiento, gracias por hacerme vivir la historia como si me pasara a mí. He llorado tanto, tanto, que al llegar al final ha sido como un abrazo al corazón. Leeré sus otros libros, 100%.
