This book had me laughing, gasping, and crying. I fell in love with this book and can say that this will be part of my top favorite books of the year! It has all the tropes that I love. Forced Proximity Enemies to lovers Grumpy Sunshine Supernatural Mystery Action Korean Folklore Myths I enjoyed the characters so much. They weren't annoying at all. I will say Hani is a complete badass and funny. She made me laugh so much, especially when she would punk on Seokga. Hani is my girl! I enjoyed the story so much, the whole suspense, detective work, and the mystery. It was good. Of course, I will say this book had me craving hot chocolate and the food, lol The romance in this book is beautiful and well built. I loved how we see their relationship towards each other start building its way up throughout the book. It didn't feel rushed at all. This is the first time I ever read a book by Sophie Kim, and I will say that I love her writing style, how she describes her characters and her world. Her writing made it so much easier for me to read and become invested in it so quickly. I loved how Sophie Kim built her characters' relationship. As if this book was meant to be a Kdrama. Now, to wait for the physical copy to be out! LES DIEUX DU CAMPUS TOME 5 : SILAS | Phoenix B. Asher & F.V. Estyer On retourne sur le campus de Saint-Charles, mais cette fois-ci ce sont les hockeyeurs qu’on rencontre ! On découvre Silas, petit frère de Nyx, il arrive sur le campus, il sort de sa petite ville et de sa grande famille. J’ai beaucoup aimé son personnage, je l’ai trouvé si gentil, bienveillant, il a vraiment la vibe golden retriever. Et je crois que c’est ce dont avait besoin Eva. Puisque notre personnage féminin c’est elle : Eva, la cheerleader populaire, qu’on a pu voir dans les livres précédents. J’ai adoré la découvrir vraiment, ses failles, ses peurs, ses difficultés. Ils sont vraiment beaux ensemble, Silas fait du bien à Eva, et Eva permet à Silas de grandir et de penser par lui-même. Il y a des sujets importants à travers tous ces personnages. Silas qui essaie de déconstruire tous les préjugés avec lesquels il a grandi, Eva qui a un secret qui la ronge. Même si d’une certaine façon c’est léger, il y a des moments forts qui font vraiment mal. J’ai vraiment aimé ce tome, je suis totalement tombée sous le charme des personnages, de l’histoire, des sujets, vraiment ce tome gros cœur sur lui. Vous connaissez ? L’avez-vous lu ? Il vous tente ?

the most noted books on my shelf ✍️💌✨ hoje venho-vos mostrar quais são os livros mais anotados da minha estante! se já me seguem há algum tempo, sabem que adoro anotar os meus livros, principalmente romances. os meus livros mais anotados: • quebrar o gelo (o meu fav de sempre, é o meu mais anotado) • hooked • proposta irrecusável • rei da ira (um dos mais recentes) como geralmente só anoto romances, costumo sublinhar as cenas queridas, hot ou que nos partem o coração 😂 e vocês? costumam anotar os vossos livros? se sim, como?
Colorado Train, de Thibault Vermot, aux éditions Sarbacane, collection X' : Ce roman est classé en littérature jeunesse à partir de 13 ans ; mais attention, je le conseillerais tout de même plutôt à des lecteurices de 15/16 ans voire à des adultes. Car non ce n'est pas vraiment un roman jeunesse, même si les héros et héroïne sont des enfants de 13 ans. Après tout Ça de Stephen King a aussi pour personnages centraux des ados, mais ça n'en reste pas moins un roman adulte. Pas de fantastique ici, c'est un roman noir, un thriller qui se passe dans une petite ville du Colorado, Durango, en 1949. Une bande de gamins se serrent les coudes contre une autre bande qui les martyrise et dont le chef plus âgé, Moe, est un véritable tyran. Mais quand Moe disparaît, la bande de gosses se met à mener l'enquête, comme ce qu'ils lisent dans les magazines de détectives et les comics. Qui a bien pu enlever Moe ? Le Wendigo, le Croque-Mitaine, le Grayman ?... Sans qu'ils n'en prennent conscience, tout du moins au début, ils se mettent sacrément en danger. Pourquoi c'est, pour moi, un roman adulte : Les tournures de phrases sont très recherchées, très métaphoriques, et à côté de ça, le langage est très parlé malgré tout. Je pense qu'il faut avoir un bagage littéraire déjà bien établi pour lire ce genre de texte. Ensuite, il y a des passages tout de même un peu vulgaires, qui ne me choquent absolument pas dans un roman adulte, mais qui ne me semblent pas adéquats pour des enfants de 13 ans, même si oui, je sais, ils en disent déjà des vertes et des pas mûres à cet âge là, mais est-ce une raison pour qu'ils croisent ces mots dans un roman, je ne suis pas sûre ? Il faut aussi avoir une certaine connaissance de la culture américaine des années 1940, et connaître aussi un peu d'anglais (les notes en bas de page sont peu nombreuses et n'explique pas tout) ; même moi qui ai une maîtrise en langue et civilisations anglaises, il y a certaines références que je n'avais pas. Il est question de père alcoolique qui bat (presque) sa fille, de viol et d'éventration d'ado, de cannibalisme, d'exsanguination d'enfant, bref, c'est du costaud. (Fin en commentaire)
In questi giorni mi ha fatto compagnia questo libro che mi è piaciuto tantissimo. Oddio, l'ho divorato in soli due giorni quindi la compagnia è stata relativa 😂 ma davvero piacevole ❤️ Ares e Raven sono letteralmente fatti per stare insieme. La metà della mela, l'anima gemella, il rovescio della medaglia, Raven sa che Ares per lei rappresenta tutto, peccato che lui stia per sposarsi con sua sorella. Sia lei che Ares fanno parte di due famiglie importanti, ricche ma anche profondamente diverse. Nonostante Raven sia una modella affermata e stia lavorando sodo per costruirsi anche la sua linea, non si sente mai abbastanza per quelli che la circondano e, in un certo qual senso, non si è mai sentita abbastanza nemmeno per Ares che invece la vede per la donna straordinaria che è. Quando saranno costretti a sposarsi, dopo la rinuncia di Hanna (sorella di Raven), per mantenere le apparenze agli occhi di tutti, per loro non sarà altro che la mano del destino che forse li sta aiutando a rimettere in ordine ciò che doveva sempre essere. La tensione tra Ares e Raven è palpabile e arriva al lettore come un pugno 🔥così come arriva a mò di carezza il loro legame che sempre c'è stato, il loro essere uniti ❤️ Raven è un personaggio molto fragile, perché la storia andrà via via complicandosi e tirerà fuori tutte le sue paure e insicurezze per imparare a crescere e a fare i conti con la realtà, anche se più cruda di quello che si aspettava. La tematica dell’𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒛𝒊𝒂 🤝🏻 sembra passare in secondo piano, ma io vi prego di non cadere nel tranello. In qualche modo è stato proprio questo sentimento a far scaturire il resto. Una scelta d’affetto semplice, che culmina in 𝖙𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖆 ☠️ Il riverbero che accompagna i lettori anche dopo la fine del libro assume però i contorni frastagliati della 𝙿𝚘𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚊. Pura 𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘢 🧠, tanto aberrante quanto affascinante 🤯. Una forma particolarissima d’𝕚𝕡𝕟𝕠𝕤𝕚: così il Giappone disegna i tratti di un 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗼 silente e strisciante nella società di tutti i giorni. Il romanzo è un crescendo di ansie, tensioni, preoccupazioni. Il finale è aperto nonostante ogni cosa fosse già andata al suo posto. Hooola! Os traigo nueva reseña, "El espejismo". Un nuevo caso donde la vida de Mina y Vincent se cruzarán de nuevo. Unos huesos han aparecido en los túneles y el mentalista se ve amenazado. Como los dos anteriores libros, ha habido bastante relleno, Camilla definitivamente es mejor trabajando sola. En las primeras 400 páginas no pasa nada, mucho relleno, asuntos que no interesan y que no están relacionados con el caso que tienen entre manos. Pero claro, luego la cosa se acelera y pega el petardazo. A mi me ha volado por completo la cabeza ese final, es que no lo asimilo. O sea, ¿EN SERIO? No he entendido nada, en 10 páginas te revientan la trilogía entera tirandote la bomba encima. “📚 Book review📚 Only For One Week by Natasha Bishop I read a review by someone on here that said they were always in bed. I disagree! I absolutely loved this book! Janelle’s ex-boyfriend is getting married to her sister. Ironically, when the books opens Janelle is her sister’s maid of honor. Oh and I forgot the sister is a total bridezilla. There is a ton of spicy scenes, but there is still a great plot involving Janelle and her fling Rome navigating a week-long affair at the destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico that changes everything. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars from me! I hope you’ve been having a lovely weekend so far. I’ve gotten a lot of reading time in, and my family and I just watched a bunch of old home movies which I always love doing. Such great memories. 🥰 Last week, my husband and I went to a giant used book sale that our old city has every year. I went last year and had so much fun, so I think it’s going to be a tradition for me from now on. I was able to walk away with a decent stack, and these were $3 each! It’s my stop today on the Influencer tour for Seven Days by @robertrutherfordwrites and I feel so lucky to have been invited by @hodderbooks to be a part of the tour! The dedication alone really made me smile and from the minute I started reading, I didn’t want to put this book down. I loved Seven Days’ unique premise from the moment I heard about this book: “Your father is on death row. You have seven days to save him. But do you want to?” This was the question faced by Alice whose feelings surrounding her father were particularly complicated. She hadn’t spoken to him in years and didn’t even know he was in prison, let alone on death row! Now with only seven days left for him to live, Alice is faced with a big choice. She has a chance to try and save her father, but should she? This story was just as thrilling as it sounds and I really liked the short, punchy chapters as it meant that the pace was always so brilliant the whole way through the book. I was so invested in Alice’s journey of discovery and couldn’t wait to see what truths would be uncovered next and what situations she would find herself in. A particular revelation around the middle of the book took me completely by surprise (it was one of my favourite moments of the whole story) as did the way the whole story gradually unfolded. I found myself racing through the pages to see what would happen next, especially in the last quarter when things got particularly tense. Seven Days is such a clever, enthralling read and I loved all of the twists and turns along the way. Although I wasn’t ready for the book to end, I like being able to imagine what happened next after I finished the final page. This truly is a fantastic read! I devoured it in a day, but needed a couple of days to process what I had read. The worldbuilding was a bit heavy, but once I got the hang of it, I was invested in the story. There are a lot of information in this book, so you need to be focused in order to understand it. This is a story unlike anything else I've read and I loved it! The characters were well written and the plot amazing! I loved the relationship between Grey and Darby and I can't wait to see what happens in the sequel. I have an unpopular opinion of Rouge. What started off super intriguing soon turned too repetitive with far too much Tom Cruise. I didn't find myself liking any of the characters, and 400 pages was just a little too long for me. I really wanted to enjoy this book.
