I recently had a poll in my stories about whether kids should be allowed in first class. Interestingly, about a quarter of the respondents said no. When we traveled to Florida recently, we sat in first class. My kids are relatively well behaved, but still kids. But we also prepare. We also have never run into anyone with issues around us. People generally are very kind and often like chatting with my kids. Things that we do to prepare for airline travel: 1. Have their iPads charged and loaded. My kids only get their iPads when we travel, so it’s a treat to have them. 2. Pack snacks. You never know when you will be trapped on a plane for hours. Always have back ups. We also bring refillable water bottles. 3. Have a small extra activity in case watching videos isn’t enough. My daughter doesn’t always like to just watch videos. I normally pack a small coloring book and a few crayons for her or one of her favorite toys from home. 4. Lastly, we do plan flights for ease and not just cost anymore. It might be easier to fly later, but if we take the first flight of the day there will less likely be delays and the kids will often fall back asleep. Long days for mom and dad, but easier flying. Obviously, my take on kids in first class is clear. If you pay for the seats then you deserve to be there. We don’t do it often, but it is nice to show my kids a good time. I also want to raise them to appreciate everything. Sometimes it’s first class and sometimes it’s the cheapest flight to get us to Disneyland quickly. My biggest hope is to teach my children to appreciate the world around them. ROAD TRIP DAY 5 - JURASSIC COAST PART 2 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few photos from our second day in the Jurassic Coast! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So for our last full day here we wanted to check out what it’s famous for and that’s fossils! We went to charmouth beach to search for fossils (didn’t find a single one!) and then headed to Lyme Regis for some lunch, whilst it was beautiful it was really busy so after a mooch we headed back to get everyone out of the sun! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When it had cooled down a little we headed down to Axmouth harbour to do some crabbing and we’re much more successful here catching nearly 50 crabs in just about an hour! We spent the last week in Florida with R and in that time, I learned a whole lot about traveling with a 16 month old. We drove the 16 hours down and I was real anxious about the trip expecting mass chaos.. but R did AWESOME. Of course, it had challenging moments, but it was beyond worth it and now I feel more and more confident about doing this again in the future. Hands down, one of the best purchases I made before our trip was this silicone @mushie snack cup. It was perfect to bring along in the car for snack time on our stops, it doesn't spill everywhere and it wipes up easy. Plus, it allowed my FIERCLY independent son to feel like he had control over snack time 😜 I'll definitely be bringing this along for any type of future travel. Especially if you have a long flight ✈️ This way it’s just like they are riding in the car AND you don’t have to have a WWE Wrestling match on your hands…been there done that! • Patience. Kids will be kids. At some point there will be tears and tantrums. Guess what THATS OK. Your kids won’t be the first or the last to cry on a plane. Don’t let it stress you out. • IPads are a life saver, that’s right I said it! A little screen time is A OK on a travel day. Mickey for the win ok!? • Your attitude/mood directly affects your kiddos. Sometimes things get stressful…delayed flights (I’m literally typing this sitting in the airport and our plane has been delayed 5 hours AND we won’t make our connection 😳) I will be the first to admit that I have both cried and lost my temper on a travel day and that ends well for no one! Over the years I’ve learned you just gotta laugh It off! If you stay positive for the most part your kiddos will to. Pull out the snacks! This is why you packed the whole pantry 🤪 get the iPad out and just roll with it Let me leave you with this…Even on our worst travel days, even after the longest flights, I have never once regretted taking the trip. The memories we get to make as a family and the experience my kids get to have make it all worth it! So I encourage you to book the flight and travel with your family. I promise you won’t regret it!

Flying with kids can feel intimidating, but just remember my mantra - there’s nothing you can do with your kids that’s harder than taking them all to the grocery store. You got this. Save these tips to help: . 🍿Always my number one survival hack: snacks. Pack some in your carry-on. I’m addition to quieting mouths, chewing helps little ears with elevation changes. . 🧳 If you have someone traveling with diapers or medical supplies, they get an extra bag (even if you didn’t pay for a carry-on). . 💧 Don’t worry about essential liquids. You can bring medications and baby food - they just go through an extra screening… which leads to my next tip: . ⏰ Leave a little extra time. The wheelchair tacks on about 45 extra minutes with security. There are play areas in the airport and ways to entertain the kids if you end up with extra time. . 📞 If you’re traveling with special needs and have any questions or concerns, you can call TSA at 855-787-2227. They’re super helpful and can help you work anything out in advance. . 💺 You can bring your own car seats (either checked or to keep with you) at no additional charge.
