Yesterday's dog walk with mister and miss who sat perfectly for some photos with the aid of an enticing stick. Up Warton Crag, full of bluebells beginning to open up, daisies and dandelions AND it was warm and sunny with gorgeous views to Jenny Browns point and the estuary towards Bolton le sands and Morecambe. 🌾Bullfinch Beige🌾 An often overlooked songbird in the UK is the bullfinch. Small yet strong, very round and male plumage (arguably) brighter than that of our beloved robin. In many cultures, these little fellows represent friendship and joy and they always bring a smile to my face. Their iconic yet simple song constantly has me on the lookout and although far and few seem to live in my area, Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve has provided a great space to spot them. I saw this little female near their bird feeding station and found her striking. This is Wilbur and Dingle Dangle the Bitterns. A special commission piece I was asked to create for @rspb Leighton Moss 60th anniversary. Currently only available at the reserve in Silverdale as limited edition A3 signed print. I loved creating this one especially as backgrounds aren’t normally my thing! In 1964 the RSPB secured the lease on the reserve at Leighton Moss and hired John Wilson as the warden. Initially his job was about surveying the site, identifying what was there before developing hides and walkways.
