Help us decide our next BIG Family vacation! We are blessed enough to have 2 wonderful opportunities to take a great vacation, but we’re currently stuck on what to choose. 6 days at @waltdisneyworld or 7 day @carnival We are a huge Disney family. I used to be a cast member for five years. We go to Disneyland once or twice a week sometimes more, just to stop in for a churro or Ghirardelli ice cream. The kids and I have been to Walt Disney World a handful of times and we absolutely love it. Aaron has never been wants to go. We are also avid cruisers and try to make it on a ship at least once a year. Every time we have a vacation planned to Disney, the paychecks leading up to our trip, we will purchase a Disney gift card. That is money that we know is going right to our trip because we can’t use them anywhere other than Disney, and it feels like we are setting ourselves up for success, while in the parks. Disney trips can get pretty expensive paying for all the meals that you need, drinks that you want, and any merchandise that you want to get to commemorate your trip. If we are running a little bit shorter on money that paycheck, we will get a $25 gift card or if we have a little bit more to spend we will purchase a $50 gift card sometimes even a $100 gift card if we can swing it. Gift cards are accepted everywhere in the parks. Having these gift cards for us, meant that we could actually enjoy our vacation and not worry about how much we were spending, or what we were spending money on. It was not a huge hit to our bank account, our kids were able to get a gift card each; they could get whatever toy or merchandise they wanted, we could try whatever drink or fun snack we wanted to try. While on vacation, we always think to ourselves: what should we bring back to relatives? If you’re traveling by plane, you may be limited with how much you can bring back (space is also limited for us too driving in a car). So a great way to share the moment with your loved one is to send out some postcards. There are gift shops throughout the parks and on the resort site that carry packs or individual post cards to grab (stamps are available as well). We usually do postcards after a park day, typically Animal Kingdom, sitting in the air-conditioned cafeteria enjoying a snack. Within the resort, there are mail drop slots to send those little babies on their way to your loved ones. Also, if you are tight on space or want to surprise a relative with a gift, you CAN send larger merchandise out as well.
