A letter ✉️ to my dad 📝 🩵💛 Today would of been my dads 59th Birthday 🎈 if he wasn’t killed by a consultant whilst he was awake, having a procedure he didn’t need doing using a machine that was NOT licensed to be used. The said consultant cut my dad’s main artery to his heart at just 47 years old and well I don’t need to explain the horror that came after as we sat there 😢 There was no justice, we waited 5 years for a case by the ‘gmc’ which resulted in not even a slap on the wrist or retraining just ‘it happens sometimes - accidents happen’ 🙄 Vile, absolutely vile! I did a thing this weekend. I took my 7yr old son to a #Leaf playoff game. I also had my son's dad, my ex, join us. I got super lucky and found myself with 3 tix to Saturday night's game. My ex and my son are HUGE Leaf fans. I gave up on the Leafs long ago. My son plays hockey and has been doing so since he could get up on skates. My son's player stats' knowledge rivals most grown-ups. I used to attend regular season and playoff Leaf hockey games when I was a kid and into university, with my Dad, at The Gardens. My Dad was my Leaf #hockey buddy. Blessed with 3 tix I gave my son the gift of going to the game with his dad and his Mama. Plus we all got an extra special experience, being in the players tunnel, as our Boys in Blue came through and onto the ice. Notwithstanding the outcome of the game, and the disappointing loss, our little party of 3 got to have the best time! My Dad was looking down on us and making it all happen. I'm pretty sure he was smiling, his remarkable smile. Thank you Dad ❤️ I miss you like crazy, but I still feel your presence so strongly.
