All the Bald Rocks, well except one 😛 Mission: 1. West Bald Rock 2. Middle Bald Rock 3. South Bald Rock How it went: 👉 22.5kms 👉 5hrs 53mins 👉 climbed West and South. Visited Middle 👉 Rainy, windy and very cold! Boy was this an awesome experience. We didn’t get up Middle Bald Rock as it was too wet and slippery. There’s always next time! I really love Girraween NP - It’s really like stepping into another realm. This place is truly magical and a big kids playground. I’m not much of a runner but did thoroughly enjoy this little trot especially with my new flash La Sportiva Prodigio’s. If you’re up for an adventure and a bit of a trot and climb, give this route a go. Pack light and go go go! Day 37/100 Travel Countdown - and making every day count! 🌈 📸 Double rainbow early this morning | Sunset jog along The Lake after work I was stoked to see THE SAME double rainbow as yesterday when I walked out the gate this morning! Since my housemate is away on holidays, I take her dog for a little walk before work every morning. Yesterday I didn’t bring my phone & missed the opportunity to take a photo of a beautiful double rainbow right outside our house. When I walked out the gate this morning, the same double rainbow was right there! AGAIN! I couldn’t help myself but smile and say something like ‘WOW, there it is AGAIN!’ 😁 And of course I had to take a pic right away before it faded & the chance is missed once again. 🤗 What are the odds for something like this to happen, I thought. Like, the same beautiful display of nature TWICE, same time, same place, same beauty?? 🤔 In LIFE, a missed opportunity is often just that: A missed opportunity. Forever gone. 😬 We may miss opportunities because we don’t recognise them we aren’t prepared we aren’t ready we hesitate we lack courage we doubt ourselves we [ add yours here ] ... 🙄 Any opportunity acted upon - even if it doesn’t end up bringing in much fruit - is still better than a grand opportunity missed altogether... Day 32/100 Travel Countdown - and making every day count! 🙌 📸 Short jog in the dark Friday is usually my biggest day in the week as I work my day job as well as serve at a restaurant in the evening. Yet, my evening shift was cancelled earlier in the day & I decided to go for the run I didn’t do yesterday. It was already dark by the time I put my runners on as I was on the phone with my best friend from home for a while. Her husband spent a few days in intensive care earlier this week after the initial diagnosis of a heart attack. He is fine now, but it was a massive shock for his family, including my bestie & also myself as it reminded me once again that LIFE IS PRECIOUS. In fact, EVERY DAY we wake up is precious🙏 My bestie’s hubby is in his early fifties & a passionate ultra runner who is super healthy, looks after his body & nutrition and takes training very seriously, and still, he had an unexpected health scare that nearly ended his life. My bestie told me today that he is on the mend physically, however, he seems to really suffer that he is unable to run for some time & that he will be missing out on his next race he was looking forward to…. I totally get it. This is a prime example of the benefits of running: It helps you clear your mind, process challenges, find solutions & makes you feel good just by moving your body & getting that heart rate up. Well, I assume that is the exact reason he would want to go running so bad right now, to process what has happened, make sense of it all, and appreciate being alive. Yet, running is not an option right now & he really struggles. I feel him. Many would say that he should JUST be grateful to be alive, but people process things differently. Some prefer to meditate, others need to move their bodys, get their blood pumping & literally feel alive! 🙌🏽 Remember to respect LIFE as well as your body that which allows you to experience life in so many beautiful ways. Winter is coming and that means…SNOW TRIP!!!! ❄️🏂 If you have always wanted to try skiing or snowboarding this is your chance! We are headed to Queenstown, New Zealand with the girls in July for an awesome week hitting the slopes, doing yoga and cross country skiing into the back country and staying in a rustic hut for a night!
